Abstract Metformin is one of the most effective drugs for the treatment of type II diabetes. Two new mixed ligand complexes of vanadyl(ii) and chromium(iii) ions with the general formula [VOL1L2]SO4 and [CrL1L2(Cl)2]Cl, respectively, where L1 is the metformin and L2 is the glycine amino acid, have been synthesized in MeOH solvent with 1:1:1 stoichiometry and characterized by several spectroscopic techniques. The spectroscopic data suggested that the [VOL1L2]SO4 complex possesses a square pyramidal geometry, where the [CrL1L2(Cl)2]Cl complex possesses an octahedral geometry. The L1 ligand coordinated to the VO(ii) and Cr(iii) ions via the N atoms of the imino (‒C═NH) groups, where the L2 ligand coordinated via the O atom of the carboxylate group (COO) and the N atom of the amino group (NH2). The interaction of ligands L1 and L2 with the metal ions leads to complexes that have organized nanoscale structures with a main diameter of ∼14 nm for the [CrL1L2(Cl)2]Cl complex and ∼40 nm for the [VOL1L2]SO4 complex.

Abstract In this paper, we would like to study space-like submanifolds in a de Sitter spaces Spn+p(1). We define and discuss three Schrödinger operators LH, LR, LR/H and obtain some spectral characterizations of totally umbilical space-like submanifolds in terms of the first eigenvalue of the Schrödinger operators LH, LR and LR/H respectively.

In the past decades, graphs that are determined by their spectrum have received much more and more attention, since they have been applied to several fields, such as randomized algorithms, combinatorial optimization problems and machine learning. An important part of spectral graph theory is devoted to determining whether given graphs or classes of graphs are determined by their spectra or not. So, finding and introducing any class of graphs which are determined by their spectra can be an interesting and important problem. The main aim of this study is to characterize two classes of multicone graphs which are determined by their adjacency, Laplacian and signless Laplacian spectra. A multicone graph is defined to be the join of a clique and a regular graph. Let [Formula: see text] denote a complete graph on [Formula: see text] vertices. In the paper, we show that multicone graphs [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] are determined by both their adjacency spectra and their Laplacian spectra, where [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] denote the Local Higman–Sims graph and the Local [Formula: see text] graph, respectively. In addition, we prove that these multicone graphs are determined by their signless Laplacian spectra.
