Artificial planar bilayer phospholipid membrane was formed in KCl bath solutions and its electrical properties have been analyzed using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The stability of planar bilayer lipid membrane depends on concentration of KCl in the bath. Changes in the electrical properties of planar bilayer lipid membrane with the addition of lorazepam were also studied using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Lorazepam gets partitioned into bilayer lipid membrane and exhibited a fluidization effect. The ionic conductance across the bilayer lipid membrane increased with the addition of lorazepam to the bath. An impedimetric sensor was developed for quantification of lorazepam in solution.

This study is inscribed in the framework of the valorization of traditional kitchen utensils recycled from aluminum waste in Burkina Faso. In fact, these traditional kitchen utensils made of recycled aluminum alloys occupy a very important place in Burkina Faso’s kitchen. The effect of foods for consumption on its local utensils was studied using the non-stationary technique and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. For this purpose, a sample of utensil has been deducted on traditional production site. The corrosion behavior of the recycled aluminum alloy ok know chemical composition was evaluated by analyzing the impedance spectra obtained at the open circuit potential, in the salt media titrated at 3 g·L−1 and rice. Modeling electrical properties by using of a simple equivalent circuit made it possible to interpret the results obtained by impedance spectroscopy. The results showed a susceptibility to pitting corrosion and were confirmed by the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy method.

Magnesium corrosion has been identified as the main challenge that limits the implementation of this material into various applications, including biomaterials. Simple chemical conversion coatings have been employed in order to minimize the corrosion problems. In this paper, hydroxyapatite-coated magnesium were fabricated by using chemical conversion coatings and the corrosion behaviour of the coated samples were evaluated inside different corrosion media (Ringers, SBF, and PBS) by using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). EIS reveals the electrical properties of the coatings towards corrosion attack by the corrosion media. The corrosiveness of the tested solutions was given by (from least to the most aggressive): PBS ˂ SBF ˂ Ringers.
