Azithromycin has been tested as inhibitor for steel, copper and zinc corrosion in 0.5 M H2SO4 was studied using potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.  The results showed that the inhibition efficiency increased with increasing the concentration of Azithromycin. The adsorption characteristics of Azithromycin in presence of steel, copper and zinc metals were studied and the data  found to fit the Kinetic-Thermodynamic model. IR spectroscopy of the corrosion product with the inhibitor confirmed the formation of metal ion inhibitor complex.

The hepatopancreas consists of a pair of bilobed tubules comprised of two epithelial cell types. S cells are absorptive and accumulate metals such as copper and zinc. Ca++ concentrations vary between the S and B cells and during the molt cycle. Roer and Dillaman implicated Ca++-ATPase in calcium transport during molting in Carcinus maenas. This study was undertaken to compare the localization of Ca++-ATPase activity in the S and B cells during intermolt.

Heavy metals are one of the most important pollutants released to the aquatic environment by the various industrial activities. The use of these wastewater for irrigation results accumulation of heavy metals in soil and plants. So, the present investigation deals with the various concentrations (0, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 200 and 300 mg/l) of copper and zinc on germination studies of soybean. The different concentrations of copper and zinc were used for germination studies. The seedlings were allowed to grow upto seven days. The studied morphological traits increased at 5 mg/l concentration and these parameters are gradually decreased with the increase of copper and zinc concentrations.

The inhibition of zinc corrosion in 3.5% NaCl solution by some organic compounds (sodium dodecylsulphate (SDS), sodium dodecylbenzosulphonate (SDBS) and sodium 1,4-bis(2-etylhexyl) sulphosuccinate (AOT)) was investigated. The inhibition efficiencies were determined by polarization measurements of the zinc electrode in the solution. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) was also used for electrochemical studies of zinc electrode in this medium. The results showed that the used surfactants inhibit the cathodic reaction of hydrogen evolution and at low anodic overvoltage the corrosion process is under activation control, while at high anodic overvoltage the process is under diffusion control.
