Experimental investigation of heat transfer for solid and hollow concrete blocks with 2, and 3 evenly spaced cavities in them is explored to determine the most appropriate number of cavity in building blocks for effective energy consumption in building without compromising the strength of the blocks and building. The samples were tested based on their crushing strength and heat flow resistance. The results show that for the same block size, increasing the number of holes leads to a corresponding increase in the heat resistant value of the block without compromising it’s physical strength greatly.

In the accelerated ageingtest of fuses, manual measurement was used to collect the temperature of fuse.By this testing method, the errors introduced by human were inevitable. In thispaper, an automatic temperature measuring type accelerated ageing test systemfor fuses was developed. So, the errors introduced by human were overcome.

For automatic temperature measuring and logging purposes in solar thermal experiments, a single board computer - Raspberry Pi based and sensor system is proposed. Different data sets are observed for sensors, thermometers, and thermocouples and they are compared. The consistency of the automated temperature measurement system is also verified.
