Differential cross sections for elastic scattering and ionization in positron–argon collisions as a function of energy (40–150 eV) are reported at 60°. Of particular interest is the energy range 55–60 eV, where earlier measurements by the Detroit group found a drop in the elastic-scattering cross section of a factor of 2. This structure has been tentatively attributed to a cross channel-coupling effect with an open inelastic-scattering channel, most likely ionization. Our results indicate that ionization remains an important channel over the same energy range and only begins to decrease at an energy above 60 eV.

Preliminary results on the differential cross section in dp elastic scattering has been obtained at 1.25 GeV/u with HADES within a large angular range in the center of mass system. The obtained data correspond to large transverse momenta, where a sensitivity to the 2 N and 3 N short range correlations is expected.

The benchmarking experimental procedure in IBA (Ion Beam Analysis) is carefully designed in order to validate evaluated and experimental differential cross–section datasets of charged particles via the acquisition of EBS and NRA spectra from thick targets of known composition, followed by their simulations. In the present work, such benchmarking measurements have been performed at the laboratory of the Institute for Nuclear and Particle Physics “Demokritos”, for the elastic scattering of protons on natSi in the energy range of 1.1 – 3.5 MeV at four backward angles, at 140o, 150o, 160o and 170o. In addition, measurements were performed for the elastic scattering of deuterons on 16O in the energy range of 1.1 – 1.7 MeV at four backward angles, at 140o, 150o, 165o and 170o. More specifically, a thick non–polished Si target with Au evaporated on top and a Nb2O5 tablet were used. The spectra acquired were compared with simulated ones using the SIMNRA program along with the evaluated differential cross-section datasets from IBANDL. All the experimental parameters were thoroughly investigated. The obtained results, the observed discrepancies and the encountered problems during the benchmarking process are discussed and analyzed.

We study deuteron- proton elastic scattering in the deuteron energy range between 500 MeV and 2 GeV at the cms scattering angle \theta^*\ge 140^\circθ*≥140∘. The reaction is considered in the relativistic multiple scattering expansion framework. The four reaction mechanisms are included into consideration: one-nucleon exchange, single scattering, double scattering, and the term corresponding to the delta excitation in the intermediate state. The model is applied to describe the angular dependence of the differential cross section at the deuteron energies of between 880 and 1300 MeV. Also the energy dependence of the differential cross section and polarisation observables such as tensor analyzing power T_{20}T20 and polarization transfer from the deuteron to proton \varkappa𝜘 are considered at the scattering angle equal to 180^\circ∘. Contributions of the different reaction mechanisms into the reaction amplitude are demonstrated in comparison with the existing experimental data.

The differential cross sections of the 9Be(d,d0) elastic scattering were determined in the present work in the energy range of Ed,lab = 740 - 2200 keV in variable steps, mainly 20 keV at five backscattering angles (120o, 140o, 150o, 160o and 170o). The measurements were performed at the 5.5 MV TN11 HV Tandem Accelerator of the N.C.S.R. “Demokritos” implementing a high precision goniometer. The target used was a thin Si3N4 target with a Beryllium layer on top. The obtained differential cross section values are compared to the ones existing in literature and the observed similarities and discrepancies are discussed.
