A multifunctional ligand derivative of pyrrolidone has been synthesized by condensation reaction between 4-aminoantipyrine and 2-pyrrolidinone. The ligand and its Iron(II) complex were characterized using physical method and UV and IR techniques. The ligand and Fe(II) complex were tested against broad spectrums of bacterial organisms and the results show that both the ligand and complex were active against various organisms tested.

Abstract In this work, crystalline defects (dislocations) occurred in the silicon substrate during annealing SOD (Spin On Dielectric) which is an easy choice for its superior STI gap-fill ability. The reversal of address data that share same SIO (Signal Input Out) line in a DQ arises from crystalline defects. The failure analysis of physical methods has difficulty finding minute defects within the active because it is scarcely detectable from the top view. Situation can be well understood by electrical analysis using the nano probe. Due to its ability to probing contact nodes around the fail area, a ring type crystalline defect which is hardly detected from the top view was effectively analyzed by 3D TEM with the assistance of nano probe. This work shows that hybrid analysis of electrical method by nano probe and physical method by 3D TEM is useful and effective in failure analysis in semiconductor.

The zone refining method is a physical method for effectively purifying metals. Increasing yield and reducing impurity content have always been the focus of its research. This article systematically summarizes the relevant research on the production of high-purity metals by zone refining, including mechanisms, parameter optimization, zone refining types, analysis methods, limitations, and future development directions, and it provides relevant theoretical foundations for the production of high-purity metals as well.

The present study aims to contribute to sustainable development goals by increasing knowledge of food safety and food waste of meals produced by the cook–chill system in hospital units. The food waste (FW) of meals served at lunch was evaluated for all new hospitalized patients with light diet (n = 17) and soft texture diet (n = 10), during their hospital stay, using the physical method by weighing for dish and the visual estimation method for the soup. Samples of each diet (light, n = 3; soft texture, n = 3) were also collected in four different moments (after cooked, after cold transportation, after refrigerated storage and after hot regeneration) for detection and enumeration of Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella spp. and Staphylococcus aureus and enumeration of Escherichia coli, Clostridium spp., Bacillus cereus, Enterobacteriaceae, total viable counts (TVC) at 30 °C, as well as pH, water activity, moisture, ashes and protein. The FW (%) of the light diet (n = 64) was 39.8 ± 6.3 in dish and 14.9 ± 5.4 in soup, and of the soft texture diet (n = 51) was 65.1 ± 9.0 in dish and 39.0 ± 5.8 in soup. Regarding the percentage of protein per meal, both light (8.73%) and soft (3.33%) diets presented on average values lower than those recommended by the WHO (10–15% protein). The value of different microorganisms varied along the production moments; however, the final products in the light diet (after hot regeneration) presented 1.34–1.73 log cfu/g of TVC. Counts of Bacillus cereus and Staphylococcus aureus were also obtained at low levels (less than 1 log cfu/g). Besides these results, the risk of foodborne diseases should be considered. The implementation of effective measures to increase food safety and reduce FW in hospital is crucial.

The glass nanopore produced by the physical method has better physical characteristics, higher strength, stronger stability, longer life and other significant features compared with the chemical method. The purpose of this paper is to study DNA sequencing (973 project) to provide experimental basis for preparation of glass capillary 5nm 3D nanochannel In this paper, we design a set of glass capillary tension system which is controlled by laser heating and linear ultrasonic motor and produced successfully the device for the preparation of nanopore below 50 nm. In addition, the use of micro droplet generation system has carried out preliminary characterization of nanopore drawn devices. Seen from the characterization, the nanopore device fabricated can indeed produce a through-hole.
