The explicit form of linearized gauge invariant interactions of scalar and general higher even spin fields in the AdSD space is obtained. In the case of general spin-ℓ a generalized "Weyl" transformation is proposed and the corresponding "Weyl" invariant action is constructed. In both cases the invariant actions of the interacting higher even spin gauge field and the scalar field include the whole tower of invariant actions for couplings of the same scalar with all gauge fields of smaller even spin. For the particular value of ℓ = 4, all results are in exact agreement with Ref. 1.

Abstract We propose generalised $$ \mathcal{N} $$ N = 1 superconformal higher-spin (SCHS) gauge multiplets of depth t, $$ {\Upsilon}_{\alpha (n)\overset{\cdot }{\alpha }(m)}^{(t)} $$ ϒ α n α ⋅ m t , with n ≥ m ≥ 1. At the component level, for t > 2 they contain generalised conformal higher-spin (CHS) gauge fields with depths t − 1, t and t + 1. The supermultiplets with t = 1 and t = 2 include both ordinary and generalised CHS gauge fields. Super-Weyl and gauge invariant actions describing the dynamics of $$ {\Upsilon}_{\alpha (n)\overset{\cdot }{\alpha }(m)}^{(t)} $$ ϒ α n α ⋅ m t on conformally-flat superspace backgrounds are then derived. For the case n = m = t = 1, corresponding to the maximal-depth conformal graviton supermultiplet, we extend this action to Bach-flat backgrounds. Models for superconformal non-gauge multiplets, which are expected to play an important role in the Bach-flat completions of the models for $$ {\Upsilon}_{\alpha (n)\overset{\cdot }{\alpha }(m)}^{(t)} $$ ϒ α n α ⋅ m t , are also provided. Finally we show that, on Bach-flat backgrounds, requiring gauge and Weyl invariance does not always determine a model for a CHS field uniquely.

The anti-self-duality equations for gauge fields in d = 4 and a generalization of these equations to dimension d = 4n are considered. For gauge fields with values in an arbitrary semisimple Lie algebra [Formula: see text] we introduce the ansatz which reduces the anti-self-duality equations in the Euclidean space ℝ4n to a system of equations breaking up into the well known Nahm's equations and some linear equations for scalar field φ.

Abstract We consider higher-spin gravity in (Euclidean) AdS4, dual to a free vector model on the 3d boundary. In the bulk theory, we study the linearized version of the Didenko-Vasiliev black hole solution: a particle that couples to the gauge fields of all spins through a BPS-like pattern of charges. We study the interaction between two such particles at leading order. The sum over spins cancels the UV divergences that occur when the two particles are brought close together, for (almost) any value of the relative velocity. This is a higher-spin enhancement of supergravity’s famous feature, the cancellation of the electric and gravitational forces between two BPS particles at rest. In the holographic context, we point out that these “Didenko-Vasiliev particles” are just the bulk duals of bilocal operators in the boundary theory. For this identification, we use the Penrose transform between bulk fields and twistor functions, together with its holographic dual that relates twistor functions to boundary sources. In the resulting picture, the interaction between two Didenko-Vasiliev particles is just a geodesic Witten diagram that calculates the correlator of two boundary bilocals. We speculate on implications for a possible reformulation of the bulk theory, and for its non-locality issues.

We explore the generation of large-scale magnetic fields in the so-called moduli inflation. The hypercharge electromagnetic fields couple to not only a scalar field but also a pseudoscalar one, so that the conformal invariance of the hypercharge electromagnetic fields can be broken. We explicitly analyze the strength of the magnetic fields on the Hubble horizon scale at the present time, the local non-Gaussianity of the curvature perturbations originating from the massive gauge fields, and the tensor-to-scalar ratio of the density perturbations. As a consequence, we find that the local non-Gaussianity and the tensor-to-scalar ratio are compatible with the recent Planck results.
