Since its debut in the 1960s, the broad use and availability of benzodiazepines has mirrored the increased incidence of overdose cases. Due to its non-specic presentation, there is often a delay in diagnosis. We report a case of Benzodiazepine toxicity in a 70-year-old man who presented to us in a comatose state. He was evaluated at another hospital initially and was intubated in view of his low Glasgow Coma scale. A CT brain plain study was done suspecting a basilar artery thrombus and he was referred to us for Neuro-Interventional procedures. As radiological, laboratory and electrophysiological investigations were unremarkable a provisional diagnosis of drug intoxication was made after patient medication review and a trial of Flumazenil was given, after which the patient had improved dramatically. Flumazenil is not routinely used due to fears of withdrawal seizures and its high cost. It also has no effect on reversing sedation caused by barbiturates, ethanol, or opioids. The antidote has a favorable risk-benet ratio when dosed appropriately and can be a helpful diagnostic tool after ruling out the more common causes of acute sensorium loss as demonstrated by this case report.

Foreign body aspiration (FBA) is common in children. Especially in children, the majority of accidental deaths occur due to FBA. Morbidity and mortality rates increase, especially in children between the ages of one and four, and as a result of delay in diagnosis. The most common symptoms in patients with FBA are cough, dyspnea, hemoptysis, stridor and wheezing. In this case report, a patient who presented with sudden respiratory distress in the Pediatric Emergency Department was presented and the importance of anamnesis and respiratory examination in the diagnosis of FBA was emphasized.

Acute fatty liver of pregnancy (AFLP) is an uncommon condition that manifests in the third trimester of pregnancy. Its association with vaso-occlusive crisis from Sickle Cell Anaemia is not common. Published data on the simultaneous occurrence of these two conditions is rare, hence this case report. A 32-year-old gravida 3 para 1+1 lady, with Sickle Cell Anaemia, had a vaso-occlusive crisis in association with AFLP at 32 weeks’ gestation, and the outcome of her management was successful. AFLP is a rare late-gestational event affecting about 1 in 10,000 to 15,000 pregnancies. The exact aetiology is not known. Profound hypoglycaemia and jaundice with elevated serum transaminases are recognized features of AFLP.These features may also be seen in haemoglobinopathies. The simultaneous occurrence of AFLP and Sickle Cell Anaemia may result in overlap of symptoms and delay in diagnosis and treatment. Therefore, maintaining a high index of suspicion is key. The cornerstone for treatment remains prompt delivery and supportive care. AFLP can coexist with Sickle cell crises. It is important that care providers, especially in populations with high burden of Sickle Cell Anaemia, consider this as a differential diagnosis, especially when the jaundice is associated with profound or recurring episodes of hypoglycaemia. Prompt diagnosis and delivery in a multidisciplinary approach is important to avoid adverse maternal and foetal outcomes. Keywords: Vaso-occlusive crises, acute fatty liver of pregnancy, hypoglycaemia, Sickle-cell anaemiaFunding: No funding sources

ABSTRACTAlthough osteosarcoma of the head and neck is a relatively rare disease, it is a highly malignant bone tumor. Diagnosis of the tumor is important especially in early stages for improving prognosis. The patients with orofacial pain firstly prefer to go to dentists. Such kind of pain may be associated with an oral or maxillofacial cancer. The dentists must be careful for evaluating the clinical and radiologic clues. These clues determine the biopsy necessity, type and management plan. The aim of this case presentation is to emphasize the importance of dentists on diagnosis and prognosis of oral malignancies.
