ZnO@CoMoO4 core/shell structures as an electrode for supercapacitors exhibited a high specific capacitance of 1.52 F cm−2 (1169 F g−1) at 2 mA cm−2 and a good cycling stability of 109% of the initial specific capacitance after 5000 cycles.

A high-performance asymmetric supercapacitor was fabricated using MWCNTs/NiS composite and GNPs as electrodes, exhibiting high specific capacitance of ∼181 F g−1 at 1 A g−1 current density and excellent cyclic stability with 92% retention after 1000 cycles at 2 A g−1 current density.

A novel composite nanostructure of C–CoOx–C with CoOx nanoparticles embedded in N-containing porous graphite carbon nanofibers exhibited a more acceptable specific capacitance, higher rate capability and better cycling stability.
