The upgraded tar-free syngas could be produced from the catalytic pyrolysis of biomass impregnated with nickel cations and modified by NaBH4, accompanied by the in situ generation of the recyclable silica-based metallic nickel (Ni0) nanoparticles embedded in rice husk char.
