Communication Management of the Child With Auditory Neuropathy

La comunicación aborda desde una perspectiva de acción integrada y contemplando las variables que en ella intervienen. Estos factores igualmente pasan a ser referentes para la evaluación. No se puede hablar de gestión de comunicación en las organizaciones sin diagnóstico consistente, planeamiento alineado a la estrategia de la empresa, plan de acción coherente, implantación rigurosa y valoración. El objetivo de este trabajo es conformar la propuesta de bases teórico-metodológicas para la evaluación del sistema de comunicación en las organizaciones. Para el desarrollo se realizó un diseño general investigativo basado en la teoría fundamentada y sustentada en una extensa revisión bibliográfica, análisis documental, entrevistas a expertos y un cuestionario semi- estructurado a profesionales de la comunicación en instituciones y organizaciones seleccionadas. Se concluyó que la comunicación en cualquier entidad y tomando los aspectos a medir, momento, periodicidad, los métodos y técnicas a emplear así como la profundidad y extensión de estos análisis, dependerá de la situación particular de cada organización. Communication management in organizations: a proposal for its evaluation Abstract Communication is stated from a perspective of integrated action and taking into account the variables involved therein. These factors also become benchmarks for evaluation. You can not talk about communication management in organizations without a consistent diagnosis, aligned business strategy, plan of a consistent action , rigorous implementation and evaluation planning. The aim of this paper is to form the theoretical and methodological proposal for the evaluation of the communication system in organizations . To develop an overall research design based on grounded theory and supported by an extensive literature review, document analysis, expert interviews and semi-structured communication to professionals involved in the process of communication in institutions and organizations selected, and a questionnaire, it was concluded that the communication in any organization and taking aspects to be measured such as time, frequency, methods and techniques used as well and the depth and extent of these analyses will depend on the particular situation of each organization. Deficits in central auditory processing may occur in a variety of clinical conditions including traumatic brain injury, neurodegenerative disease, auditory neuropathy/dyssynchrony syndrome, neurological disorders associated with aging, and aphasia. Deficits in central auditory processing of a more subtle nature have also been studied extensively in neurodevelopmental disorders in children with learning disabilities, ADD, and developmental language disorders. Illustrative cases are reviewed demonstrating the use of an audiological test battery in patients with auditory neuropathy/dyssynchrony syndrome, bilateral lesions to the inferior colliculi, and bilateral lesions to the temporal lobes. Electrophysiological tests of auditory function were utilized to define the locus of dysfunction at neural levels ranging from the auditory nerve, midbrain, and cortical levels.

Objective To determine the incidence of auditory neuropathy spectrum disorder (ANSD) and its risk factors among the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) population from 2009 to 2018 in the Pediatric Health Information System database. Study Design Retrospective national database review. Setting Population-based study. Methods The Pediatric Health Information System database was queried to identify patients ≤18 years old with NICU admission and ANSD diagnosis. Patient demographics, jaundice diagnosis, use of mechanical ventilation, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, furosemide, and/or aminoglycosides were extracted. Multivariable linear regression was used to assess trends in incidence. Chi-square analysis was used to assess differences between patients with and without ANSD. Logistic regression was used to assess factors associated with ANSD. Results From 2009 to 2018, there was an increase in (1) NICU admissions from 14,079 to 24,851 ( P < .001), (2) total ANSD diagnoses from 92 to 1847 ( P = .001), and (3) annual total number of patients with ANSD and NICU admission increased from 4 to 16 ( P = .005). There was strong correlation between the increases in total number of NICU admissions and total ANSD diagnoses over time ( R = 0.76). The average ANSD incidence was 0.052% with no statistically significant change over 10 years. When compared with all NICU admissions, children with ANSD had a higher association with use of furosemide ( P < .001) and ventilator ( P < .001). Conclusion Despite a statistically significant increase in NICU admissions and total ANSD diagnosis, the incidence of ANSD in the NICU population has not increased from 2009 to 2018. Furosemide and mechanical ventilator use were associated with increased likelihood of ANSD.
