Aiming at dealing with the problems of traditional inspection robot, such as low accuracy of path identification, an embedded intelligent inspection robot based on image processing is developed. With uCOSs efficient real-time control ability and image processing technology, the robot can follow the line automatically. The experiment showed that the intelligent robot can identify the path accurately and adjust the direction and speed quickly

Edge detection that is an important means to realize image segmentation has important application significance in image processing, industrial detection, artificial intelligence and the target recognition field. As the demand for real-time and rapidity in image processing, the embedded image processing technology has been widely applied. But the realization of real-time edge detection for image requires a large amount of data processing, limited system resources of embedded system is the main reason of the embedded image processing technology development. In order to shorten time embedded systems edge detection processing large amounts of data, based on adaptive threshold Canny algorithm, this paper as the FPGA data processing DSP chips and made a FPGA + DSP hardware architecture, effectively improve the system real-time, get a good edge detection results.

The real-time image-processing by SOPC technology on the hardware is the new direction of the image-processing technology. FPGA is the core component of the image-processing based on SOPC technology. The principles and characteristics of SOPC technology and the commonly image-processing algorithm are introduced in the first part. Then the traditional DSP image-processing technology is compared with the image-processing technology using FPGA chip embedding with the Nios II soft-core processor. As a result, a conclusion that the usage of the SOPC technology can increase the speed and working frequency of image-processing is derived. At last, the application status of SOPC technology used in image-processing is introduced. It can be concluded that the SOPC technology in real-time image-processing have the broad application prospect.

Corporation work piece length measure system based on digital image processing technology. CCD vidicon is used as the image capture equipment. Image signal are converted into 8 bits digital code stream by CMOS image sensor chip OV9650. DSP chip of TI is used as the core of image processing in the scheme. Peripheral SDRAM are expanded through peripheral bus to save the large amounts of temporary data in data processing to reduce the time for image processing. Median filtering is adopted in image enhance of the object image. The length of rectangle work piece can be measured in the distance by untouched way by improved edge recognition algorithm in real time. The measurement result is displayed by LCD. Meanwhile the measure system communicates with PC through communication interface. It has been proved that the system can guarantee real-time and high accurate. It’s a typical instance of DSP and digital image processing technology used in industry.
