<p class="Abstract"><span>This paper discusses the Power Factor Correction (PFC) for single phase ACDC Buck-Boost Converter (BBC) operated in Continuous Conduction Mode (CCM) using inductor average current mode control. The proposed control technique employs Proportional-Integral (PI) controller in the outer voltage loop and the Inductor Average Current Mode Control (IACMC) in the inner current loop for PFC BBC. The IACMC has advantages such as robustness when there are large variations in line voltage and output load. The PI controller is developed by using state space average model of BBC. The simulation of the proposed system with its control circuit is implemented in MatLab/Simulink. The simulation results show a nearly unity power factor can be attained and there is almost no change in power factor when the line frequency is at various ranges. Experimental results are provided to show its validity and feasibility. <br />Keyword</span></p>

In this paper, analysis and design of a novel single phase AC-DC CUK converter circuit has been proposed where Power Factor Correction (PFC) controller scheme has been used in order to obtain better performance than conventional converters. Closed loop technique is applied to the bridgeless converter in order to achieve low input current, Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) at input AC mains along with near unity power factor. Performance comparison between open loop and closed loop of the proposed converter is made without filtering. The problems arise with open loop is sufficiently minimized by using power factor correction controller. The performance comparison between proposed and conventional CUK AC-DC converter operating in Continuous Conduction Mode (CCM) is made based on circuit simulations using PSIM softwere.

In this paper closed loop analysis of Single phase AC-DC Bridgeless Single Ended Primary Inductance Converter (SEPIC) for Power Factor Correction (PFC) rectifier is analyzed. In this topology the absence of an input diode bridge and the due to presence of two semiconductor switches in the current flowing path during each switching cycle which will results in lesser conduction losses and improved thermal management compared to the conventional converters. In this paper the operational principles, Frequency analysis, and design equations of the proposed converter are described in detail. Performance of the proposed SEPIC PFC rectifier are carried out using Matlab Simulink software and results are presented.
