In this paper, an approach for the tuning of a model-based non-linear predictive control (NMPC) is presented. The proposed control uses the pattern search optimization algorithm (PSM), which is applied to the pH non-linear control in the alkalinization process of sugar juice. First, the model identification is made using the Takagi Sugeno T-S fuzzy inference systems with multidimensional fuzzy sets; the next step is the controller parameters tuning. The PSM algorithm is used in both cases. The proposed approach allows the minimization of model uncertainty and decreases, in the response, the error in a steady state when compared with other authors who perform the same procedure but apply other optimization algorithms. The results show an improvement in the steady-state error in the plant response.

This paper studies a fractional-order chaotic system with sine non-linearities and highlights its dynamics using the Lyapunov spectrum, bifurcation analysis, stagnation points, the solution of the system, the impact of the fractional order on the system, etc. The system considering uncertainties and disturbances was synchronized using dual penta-compound combination anti-synchronization among four master systems and twenty slave systems by non-linear control and the adaptive sliding mode technique. The estimates of the disturbances and uncertainties were also obtained using the sliding mode technique. The application of the achieved synchronization in secure communication is illustrated with the help of an example.

The Selkov system, which is typically employed to model glycolysis phenomena, unveils some rich dynamics and some other complex formations in biochemical reactions. In the present work, the synchronization problem of the glycolysis reaction-diffusion model is handled and examined. In addition, a novel convenient control law is designed in a linear form and, on the other hand, the stability of the associated error system is demonstrated through utilizing a suitable Lyapunov function. To illustrate the applicability of the proposed schemes, several numerical simulations are performed in one- and two-spatial dimensions.

In this work, simplified expressions have been obtained that describe the kinematics parameters of the aircraft movement and its accelerations. These expressions are needed to obtain an optimal linear control law in order to provide movement of the aircraft using the hyperbola guidance method with a time difference of arrival navigation system. The key feature of the hyperbola navigation method is the ability to reduce the number of navigation positions by one when the on-board navigation equipment operates in a passive mode, carrying out only the reception of navigation information, like consumers of satellite navigation information.
