A plasma generator with a liquid cathode has been developed and investigated, which makes it possible to create a plasma flow from electrolyte vapors with a temperature of up to 1800°C with a mass flow rate of up to 3.0 g/s for the gasification of carbon-containing waste. An electrolyte in the form of a solution of Glauber salt in distilled water with a concentration of 0.5-1.0 kg/m3 by weight was used. The current-voltage characteristics of the discharge are constructed. The optimal electrical and thermal parameters of the plasma flow are determined experimentally.

The paper describes the experimental examination of thermal utilization of used rubber. The research was carried out to examine the influence of rubber powder mass flow rate on the process of plasma pyrolysis of rubber. An arc plasma generator has been applied. Ar and mixture of Ar and H2 were used as plasma gas. The analysis of composition of the gaseous products was done by the infrared absorption spectroscopy. All the rubber introduced to the plasma jet was decomposed. The outgoing gas did not contain any of toxic chemical compounds, like NOx or HCN.

This work investigates the influence of corona discharge working in different treatment modes on the Serratia marcescens and Pseudomonas syringae bacteria cultures. The current-voltage characteristics of the discharge were measured in the 4…50 μA current range. The typical current and voltage oscillograms of corona discharge were measured when the pin’s point was near the water surface. Several treatment modes were discovered, which allowed to destroy or decrease the quantity of Serratia marcescens and Pseudomonas syringae bacteria by several orders of magnitude using 0.3 W corona discharge. The absorption spectra of the distilled water treated by the corona discharge were measured.
