AbstractIn this work, we present a new technique for solving the center problem for nilpotent singularities which consists of determining a new normal form conveniently adapted to study the center problem for this singularity. In fact, it is a pre-normal form with respect to classical Bogdanov–Takens normal formal and it allows to approach the center problem more efficiently. The new normal form is applied to several examples.

AbstractWe examine applicability of normal forms of non-holonomic robotic systems to the problem of motion planning. A case study is analyzed of a planar, free-floating space robot consisting of a mobile base equipped with an on-board manipulator. It is assumed that during the robot’s motion its conserved angular momentum is zero. The motion planning problem is first solved at velocity level, and then torques at the joints are found as a solution of an inverse dynamics problem. A novelty of this paper lies in using the chained normal form of the robot’s dynamics and corresponding feedback transformations for motion planning at the velocity level. Two basic cases are studied, depending on the position of mounting point of the on-board manipulator. Comprehensive computational results are presented, and compared with the results provided by the Endogenous Configuration Space Approach. Advantages and limitations of applying normal forms for robot motion planning are discussed.

This research is entitled strategy of university library services in the new normal period case study of the technical implementation unit (UPT) of the University of Riau library. The purpose of this study was to determine the service strategy taken by the technical implementing unit (UPT) of the Riau University library in the new normal era. The method used in this research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The processing method uses data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The informants in this study were the head of the library, the head of the service sector, and the head of the IT department. The results of this study are that there are several strategies taken by the Riau University library, that is the development of digital libraries that must be accelerated and add supporting applications to ensure the smooth distribution of information to users.

For a finite Thurston-type ordering < of the braid group Bn, we introduce a new normal form of a dual positive braid which we call the [Formula: see text]-normal form, which is useful to compute the ordering. This normal form extends Fromentin's rotating normal form and the author's [Formula: see text]-normal form of positive braids. Using the [Formula: see text]-normal form, we give a combinatorial description of the restriction of the ordering < to the dual braid monoids [Formula: see text]. We prove that the restriction to the dual positive monoid [Formula: see text] is a well-ordered set of the order type ωωn-2.

We present a seemingly new normal form for braids, where every braid is expressed using a word in a regular language on some simple alphabet of elementary braids. This normal form stems from analysing the geometric action of braid groups on curves in a punctured disk.
