AbstractThis paper employs provincial data to study the spatial and intersectoral spill-overs in aggregate failure rates in Spain, by using an Integrated Nested Laplace Approximation. The analysis is based on NUTS3 data over the time span 2005Q1-2013Q4. By speculating on the effects of the Spanish financial crisis, we document empirical evidence of the presence of spatial spill-overs among neighboring counties. Furthermore, some intersectoral spill-overs are also detected: we observe that Industry and Agriculture exhibit a positive impact on the Service sector. These results can be useful to design proper policy rules to better manage the spread of bankruptcies over time and space.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to present an empirical account of the prevalence and socio-demographic determinants of workplace incivility (experienced and instigated) in the Indian workplace. Design/methodology/approach The study sample consisted of 1,133 employees working in service organizations mainly banks, hotels, academic institutions and information technology firms. The authors tested the proposed model on the same set of respondents in two different studies. The phenomenon of instigated incivility and its determinants were examined in Study 1, while Study 2 looked at experienced incivility and its antecedents. The data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate, and multivariate statistical operations in SPSS 24. Findings The results of both studies revealed that employees’ age, gender, educational qualification, position, nature of the organization, type of the organization and duration of working hours significantly predict the onset of workplace incivility. Nevertheless, marital status and tenure failed to predict the manifestation of uncivil behaviors in the organization. Research limitations/implications The scope of this study was restricted to the Indian service sector with a focus on only two types of workplace incivility (instigated and experienced). Practical implications The managers are advised to be mindful of employees’ socio-demographic differences while devising interventions to tackle the issues of uncivil acts at work. Originality/value This study is one of the pioneer attempts to explore the impact of socio-demographic factors on employees’ tendency to instigate and experience incivility at work in India. In doing so, the study enriches the scant literature on workplace incivility by establishing the role of individual differences in determining the occurrence of incivility in the workplace.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of training and development as well as career planning in Nepalese service sector organizations. Data for this study were gathered from service organizations such as banks, insurance companies, telecommunications companies, hospitals, and colleges. In total, 502 questionnaires were distributed, and 82.97 percent of the copies that were filled out and returned were used in the study. Descriptive statistics, correlation, and multiple regression were used to analyze the data. Organizational training and development and career planning, according to the study's findings, have a significant impact on employee involvement in their jobs and performance. As a result, Nepalese service sector organizations must make provisions of the budget for additional employee training and development programs. Similarly, it is necessary to provide employees with career development opportunities so that they can stay with the company for an extended period.

Insurance is an arrangement whereby the insurer binds the insured by receiving a premium, to compensate for the loss, damage, or loss of projected profits that the company may incur as a result of an uncertain event. Regarding the economy, insurance refers to an economic agreement that eliminates or reduces negative impacts in the future due to different possibilities (Asriyadi, 2019: 50). Sharia insurance is one of the institutions that provide services in the service sector, emerging in the midst of society, most of which are still do not understand about sharia insurance and use it. This causes people to be reluctant to use insurance services by labeling sharia. Marketing strategy is essentially a comprehensive, integrated and integrated plan in the field of marketing that provides guidance on the activities to be carried out to achieve the marketing goals of an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurship is a form of activity of people who are able to face challenges and take advantage of existing opportunities, while realizing a vision. Sharia insurance products cover 4,444 different products, namely insurance products with 4,444 savings items and 4,444 non-saving insurance products. Non-savings insurance products cover 4,444 individuals' health, personal accident and personal Al-Khairat. AlKhairat is for those who intend to replace the heirs if the participant experiences death during the agreement period (Ramadhani, 2015). To improve their products, many insurance companies are innovating by introducing new features, such as health insurance. Facilitate public access to insurance, especially for health insurance. Purpose- This study aims to determine the role of leadership empowerment and work engagement in predicting job satisfaction of female teachers of Government Girls Colleges of Sindh, Pakistan. Design/Methodology/Approach- The study has utilized survey questionnaire consist of 36 items to collect data from 360 female faculty members of Government Girls Degree Colleges of Sindh. Findings- The data was analyzed by using SPSS for descriptive analysis and Smart PLS software was used to extract the inferential statistics. The results have confirmed the research objectives and answered all research questions for addressing the problem statement. Thus all the hypotheses were found supported. The work engagement was predicted by leadership empowerment at the rate of 29% and job satisfaction was predicted by leadership empowerment at the rate of 32%. Thus the work engagement has played a role of partial mediation. Originality/Value- Job satisfaction considered as most researched job outcome in HR. In service sector the female teachers job satisfaction has not attain serious efforts of researchers and management of girl’s colleges to address their problems effectively. In this context, this study has figured out possible solution of female teachers’ problems.

The Vietnamese tourism sector was fastly growing in several years, this sector also has played an important role in support the social development in Vietnam. Our paper tries to analysis the factors affect return intention of visitors with the data sample are collected from a survey including 230 visitors in Phu Quoc islands, which is the most well known and beautiful one in Vietnam. The research model has one dependent variable which is Return intention and eight independence variables including Destination Image, Natural and Cultural Environment, Perceived Price, Infrastructure, Accessibility, Local Cuisine, Leisure and Entertainment, and Attitude of the local people. The results show that all independent variables also have the positive effects on the Return intention of visitors at the statistical significance at 5% level. Finally, our paper provides some suggestions which are useful for managers in the tourist service sector and academics in the service economics field.

Various studies have been conducted among different countries to determine the relationship of ICT on productivity and employment, but the results vary among industries and firms. This research aims to examine the impact of ICT on the service sector productivity and employment in the Philippines through quantitative research methods. Findings on the relationship between ICT and Productivity show that all the independent variables have a linear relationship on the dependent variable while the findings on the relationship of ICT and Employment, only Labor Force Participation Rate shows a nonlinear relationship to the dependent variable. The researchers ought to impart knowledge about the opportunities and threats brought by ICT, which may guide the policymakers who formulate policies regarding the advancements brought by ICT.

However, today, due to the personable approaches of services, there is a need to create a bond between the business and the customer. In this context, value is an original understanding that people have, and businesses aim to create value together by reaching more customers through personalized services. Thus, the importance of studies aimed at understanding this phenomenon based on multilateral profit relationship is increasing day by day. Turkey is among the countries that has been significantly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of people have lost their lives, and the outbreak has caused millions of people to experience both physiological and psychological problems. This study examines the effect of spiritual well-being on the life satisfaction levels of individuals the COVID-19 pandemic. The research was carried out on white-collar employees working in the service sector in Turkey. The data of the field research was collected through online surveys from a sample of 384 employees. The findings show that spiritual well-being has a positive effect on life satisfaction.

The present study aimed to identify the inabilities of service firms to connect to different age group customers whilst the era of smart technologies. Despite various service innovations customer services seem to be worsening across the world. It is imperative to understand different age group customers' experiences while using smart technologies to address current customer strategies and practices in the service sector. The study adopted the CIT method to collect participants’ experiences who were using smart technologies in various service settings. The study indicates that how staff and top management personnel of service firms are using smart technologies as a shield to avoid human contact with their customers presently. Additionally, the study highlights the relevance of people, empathy, and interactive marketing practices for improving services even in the era of smart technologies. It means that service firms should connect more and more customers through various smart technologies but get themselves disconnected from these technologies to keep a direct human interaction.
