Changes in diversity in the fish assemblage of a southern Australian embayment: consistent spatial structuring at decadal scales

Comprehensive assessment of spatio–temporal variation in assemblages, particularly relating to management and conservation efforts, should include examination of variation across scales. The present study investigated spatio–temporal variation at various scales in the fish fauna of Port Phillip, Australia, over 17 years. There were significant increases in diversity and changes in faunal composition in the most recent study, compared with 17 (+38%) and 7 (+151%) years ago. No significant year-to-year differences and no fortnightly differences within a season were found, supporting the notion of long-term changes. However, inter-seasonal variation was significant, with diversity highest in summer and lowest in winter (42.3% of summer diversity), illustrating substantial variation only at particular scales. The spatial structuring of assemblages was consistent at all temporal scales over 17 years. Fish assemblages and diversity varied significantly among sites and regions, but diversity was always highest on reefs in the eastern region of Port Phillip. However, the majority of spatial variation occurred among replicate transects (up to 75% of overall variation). Despite the high degree of small-scale spatio–temporal variability, the results provide evidence of long-term changes in faunal composition and diversity within the bay. Moreover, the results underline the necessity for multi-scalar approaches in ecological studies like abundance assessments.

In order to strengthen the construction of China's health industry and improve the health of the people, based on the data of 31 provinces and cities in China from 2009 to 2019, the improved EBM model is used to measure the health production efficiency of each region, and Moran index is used to study the Spatio-temporal variation of health production efficiency of each province. Finally, the spatial econometric model is applied to study the influencing factors of the Spatio-temporal variation of health production efficiency. The results show that generally speaking, the average efficiency of 31 provinces and cities is above 0.7, and the average efficiency of some regions is above 1. From the perspective of time variation, the average efficiency value in the eastern region and the middle region increases from 0.816 to 0.882 and from 0.851 to 0.861, respectively. However, the average efficiency value in the western region and northeast region decreases from 0.861 to 0.83 and from 0.864 to 0.805, respectively. From the perspective of spatial distribution, HH agglomeration and LL agglomeration exist in most regions. By comparing Moran scatter plots in 2009 and 2019, it is found that the quadrants of most regions remain unchanged, and LL agglomeration is the main agglomeration type in local space. There is a significant spatial dependence among different regions. From the perspective of spatial empirical results, Pgdp, Med, and Pd have a positive effect on health production efficiency. The direct effect and indirect effect of Pgdp, Med, and Gov all pass the significance test of 1%, indicating that there are spatial spillover effects of the three indicators. Each region should reasonably deal with the spillover effect of surrounding regions, vigorously develop economic activities, carry out cooperation with surrounding regions and apply demonstration effect to accelerate the development of overall health production.

<p>The delta of Orinoco River constitutes a long estuarine extension of a great importance to fisheries at Venezuela, because, it is an indispensable area for reproduction, feeding and growing of several fish species, most of them with a commercial application. The purpose of this research was to identify and analyze the changes in fish diversity and the structural dynamic of the community at four zones of channel Manamo, during dry and rainy season. Samples were taken on March and May for dry period and July and August for rainy season. A total of 48 species were identified, grouped into 24 families and 42 genera. The diversity was higher in Bajo del Medio during the dry season (2.58 bits/ind), decreasing to 1.66 bits/ind in el Pajar (rains). The PERMANOVAS analyzes showed statistical differences in the composition of species with respect to the climate season (psed-F = 0.0365, <em>p</em> &lt;0.05), but not between the sampling stations (psed-F 0.6668; <em>p</em> &lt; 0.05). The results indicated that the fish fauna of the region is composed of elements characteristic of an estuary, being the climate seasons the most important factors for the evaluated group and this reflects the seasonal nature of this community.</p>
