We study evolution properties of boundary blow-up for 2mth-order quasilinear parabolic equations in the case where, for homogeneous power nonlinearities, the typical asymptotic behaviour is described by exact or approximate self-similar solutions. Existence and asymptotic stability of such similarity solutions are established by energy estimates and contractivity properties of the rescaled flows.Further asymptotic results are proved for more general equations by using energy estimates related to Saint-Venant's principle. The established estimates of propagation of singularities generated by boundary blow-up regimes are shown to be sharp by comparing with various self-similar patterns.

Numerous and different nonlocal conditions for the solvability of parabolic equations were researched in many articles and reports. The article presented analyzes such conditions imposed, and observes that the existence and uniqueness of the solution of parabolic equation is related mainly to ”smallness” of functions, involved in nonlocal conditions. As a consequence the hypothesis has been made, stating the assumptions on functions in nonlocal conditions are related to numerical algorithms of solving parabolic equations, and not to the parabolic equation itself.

We study consistency and asymptotic normality of LS estimators in the EV (errors in variables) regression model under weak dependent errors that involve a wide range of linear and nonlinear time series. In our investigations we use a functional dependence measure of Wu [16]. Our results without mixing conditions complete the known asymptotic results for independent and dependent data obtained by Miao et al. [7]-[10].
