In this paper, we present the design, development and implementation of an integrated system for the management of COVID-19 patient, using the LoRaWAN communication infrastructure. Our system offers certain advantages when compared to other similar solutions, allowing remote symptom and health monitoring that can be applied to isolated or quarantined people, without any external interaction with the patient. The IoT wearable device can monitor parameters of health condition like pulse, blood oxygen saturation, and body temperature, as well as the current location. To test the performance of the proposed system, two persons under quarantine were monitored, for a complete 14-day standard quarantine time interval. Based on the data transmitted to the monitoring center, the medical staff decided, after several days of monitoring, when the measured values were outside of the normal parameters, to do an RT-PCR test for one of the two persons, confirming the SARS-CoV2 virus infection. We have to emphasize the high degree of scalability of the proposed solution that can oversee a large number of patients at the same time, thanks to the LoRaWAN communication protocol used. This solution can be successfully implemented by local authorities to increase monitoring capabilities, also saving lives.

Abstract In this paper, we investigate closed strictly convex hypersurfaces in ℝ n + 1 {\mathbb{R}^{n+1}} which shrink self-similarly under a large family of fully nonlinear curvature flows by high powers of curvature. When the speed function is given by powers of a homogeneous of degree 1 and inverse concave function of the principal curvatures with power greater than 1, we prove that the only such hypersurfaces are round spheres. We also prove that slices are the only closed strictly convex self-similar solutions to such curvature flows in the hemisphere 𝕊 + n + 1 {\mathbb{S}^{n+1}_{+}} with power greater than or equal to 1.

Thin film flows, whether driven by gravity, surface tension, or the relaxation of elastic boundaries, occur in many natural and industrial processes. Applications span problems of oil and gas transport in channels to hydraulic fracture, subsurface propagation of pollutants, storage of supercritical CO2 in porous formations, and flow in elastic Hele–Shaw configurations and their relatives. We review the influence of boundaries on the dynamics of thin film flows, with a focus on gravity currents, including the effects of drainage into the substrate, and the role of the boundaries to confine the flow, force its convergence to a focus, or deform, and thus feedback to alter the flow. In particular, we highlight reduced-order models. In many cases, self-similar solutions can be determined and describe the behaviors in canonical problems at different timescales and length scales, including self-similar solutions of both the first and second kind. Additionally, the time transitions between different solutions are summarized. Where possible, remarks about various applications are provided.

Reusability is a clear principle in software development. However, systematic reuse of software elements is not common in most organizations. Application programmers rarely design and create software elements for possible future reuse. In many agile software development processes, the project teams believe that the development of reusable software elements can slow down the project. This can be a misconception. This chapter examines various ways to reuse software. Three approaches to developing reusable software artifacts from 15 years of experience in the agile development process are presented. The first approach is to create generic programs or configurable frameworks that support similar solutions for a variety of use cases and environments. The reuse of patterns is the second approach presented. Another effective way is to use a model-driven approach with model patterns. These approaches help to speed deployment software. The final product is flexible and can easily be adapted to changes. This is one of the main goals of an agile approach.

Over the past 5 years (2016-2021) the Association of Independent School Admission Professionals (AISAP) has engaged in a process of expanding their professional learning and credentialing opportunities for membership. Beginning in 2016, AISAP decided to leverage recent innovations in learning sciences, digital badging, and credentialing to greatly increase the professional learning and assessment experience of its membership. Thus, AISAP embarked upon a process of developing a robust micro-credentialing program and an online credentialing exam which are authentic, accurate, accessible, and add value to participants. This case study provides an overview of the institutional context and purpose of these solutions and then details the process of designing, implementing, and continuously improving these solutions. The case also includes a number of lessons learned and accompanying resources which may be relevant to other organizations considering, or in the midst of, developing similar solutions.

Research on generations examine and analyse the similarities and differences between various age groups, and their opportunities for cooperation in the labour market, from various perspectives. According to the research, the behaviour and preparedness of each generation are different, the coordination and proper management of which poses challenges for all organisations. This is especially true when staff from national cultures with very distant values work together. The recognition of this problem was the pretext to the present research. The aim of the research is to examine the perception of the under 30 age group socialised and employed in two largely different cultures (Hungarian–Pakistani). Contrary to our assumption, the results of the quantitative research based on an online questionnaire confirm that the respondents do not perceive differently the behaviour, attitudes, expectations regarding work, workplace and employers of Pakistani and Hungarian young people at work. Employers’ perceptions of this age group play a significant role in choosing the tools that affect their retention in the workplace. In this respect, the employees of the studied cultures find similar solutions expedient.

This investigation focuses on the mixed initial boundary value problem with Caputo fractional derivatives. The studied pour an incompressible fractionalized Oldroyd-B fluid prompted by fluctuating rectangular tube. The explicit expression of the velocity field and shear stresses for the fractional model are obtained by utilizing the integral transforms, i.e., double finite Fourier sine transform and Laplace transform. Furthermore, the confirmation of the analytical solutions is also analyzed by utilizing the Tzou’s and Stehfest’s algorithms in the tabular form. In limited cases, ordinary Oldroyd-B fluid similar solutions and classical Maxwell and fractional Maxwell fluid are derived. The flow field’s graphs with the influences of relevant parameters are also mentioned.

In this paper, we have considered two different sub-diffusion equations involving Hilfer, hyper-Bessel and Erdelyi-Kober fractional derivatives. Using a special transformation, we equivalently reduce the considered boundary value problems for fractional partial differential equation to the corresponding problem for ordinary differential equation. An essential role is played by certain properties of Erd\'elyi-Kober integral and differential operators. We have applied also successive iteration method to obtain self-similar solutions in an explicit form. The obtained self-similar solutions are represented by generalized Wright type function. We have to note that the usage of imposed conditions is important to present self-similar solutions via given data.

INTRODUCTION: Nowadays, Big Data is created in previously unimaginable quantities. Newly generated data from various Internet of Things (IoT) sensors and their use have never reached their current dimensions. Along with this trend, the availability of devices capable of collecting this data increases, the time for their evaluation is reduced and the volume of data collected at the same time increases. The most important task of research and development in this area is to bring solutions suitable for processing large amounts of data because our current storage and processing capabilities are limited and unable to compete with the storage, processing and publication of the resulting data. OBJECTIVES: Point out the importance of implementing Big Data technology. METHODS: To achieve the goal, the following methodological approach was chosen: study and processing of foreign and domestic literature, acquaintance with similar solutions for data processing, definition of Big Data and IoT, proposal for using Big Data solution to support decision-making, risk definition and evaluation. RESULTS: With the growing amount of disparate and incoherent data and the further growth of the Internet of Things, it is now almost impossible to evaluate all available information correctly and in a timely manner. Without this knowledge, the company loses its competitive advantage and is unable to respond in a timely manner to client requests. CONCLUSION: Implementing a solution for processing Big Data to support decision-making in the company is a complex process. As part of the implementation and use of the Big Data solution to support decision-making, the company must be prepared for the emergence of various problems. We can assume that Big Data technology will constantly be evolving in terms of streamlining analytical tools for obtaining information from large volumes of generated data. Therefore, it is appropriate to create space for the implementation of Big Data technology.
