This study chose Porter’s (1980) conceptualization of competitive strategy, since this conceptualization is academically well accepted and internally consistent (Dess and Davis, 1984). Porter (1980) identified two generic ways in which an organization can gain sustainable competitive advantage over other firms in the industry: ‘low cost’ and ‘differentiation’. A ‘low-cost’ strategy emphasizes the need to be the low-cost producer in the industry. The Lean-Kaizen has been utilized in different sectors over the past years as a continuous improvement tool and wastes elimination to gain competitive advantage. Indeed, Lean- Kaizen implementation in the higher education sector has not been employed effectively in some countries. The paper aims to examine the current status of Lean-Kaizen implementation in the Saudi Arabian higher education sector. The survey was distributed to several universities in Saudi Arabia and the findings of the survey illustrated that the implementation of Lean-Kaizen is still in the early stages and not adopted widely in universities within Saudi Arabia. The paper provides valuable information about the current status of the Lean - Kaizen implementation in the Saudi Arabian higher education sector. A recommendation was proposed to guide universities and practitioners for future continuous improvement efforts.

Conceptually, Knowledge Management is the organization's activities in managing knowledge as an asset, it is necessary that knowledge is properly distributed to the right people and in swift time, until they can interact, share knowledge and apply it in their daily work in order to improve organizational performance. Utilising Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) as a case example, this report will provide information about the strategic challenges that many modern universities in the UK face in creating a flexible delivery of education. Using strategic concepts and analysis, the current short report will examine the competitiveness within the higher education sector in the UK and explore key external and internal environmental factors of CCCU, gaining a greater understanding of their current position. From these analyses, strategic recommendations as to how universities such as CCCU can create a competitive advantage through a new form of flexible learning delivery.
