Compressible graphene aerogel (CGA) was prepared via one-step reduction and self-assembly of graphene oxide with urea as reducing agent and then freeze-drying. The morphology and mechanical property of CGA were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and mechanical testing. The results revealed 3D honeycomb-shaped porous structure was built and ultra-light CGA with density of 6.3 mg·cm-3 was achieved. The CGAs showed exceptional compression performance, which could be compressed to more than 50% of its own height and recover to original state immediately after released. The maximum stress reached to 8.1kPa with 50% strain and decreased quite little after compression up to 100 cycles.
