Coastal area is the most vulnerable area to climate change. Cirebon coastal land in Western Java, Indonesia is low-lying coastal area which is one of the potential areal for fish culture and farming. There are also major transportation facilities for western Java province to the whole area in the island (Java) through this area. As low-lying landscape, populated and developing city, Cirebon should be considered vulnerable to future sea level rise. Geomorphology, geo-electric and remote sensing study were conducted during 2008 and 2009 in coastal land of Cirebon. The result showed that most part of coastal area in Cirebon was eroded in various scales which vulnerable turn to worst. Sea water was penetrating throughout several kilometres inland. Valuation on various land-uses would project 1,295,071,755,150 rupiah/ha/year of loss while sea level were rose 0.8 meters that would inundate various land-uses i.e., Shrimp, fish and salt ponds, rice fields and settlement in the area.Keywords: vulnerability, coastal, climate change, sea level rise

The southern coastal area of Java Island is one of the nine seismic gaps that prone to tsunamis. The entire coastline in one of the regencies, Gunungkidul, is exposed to the subduction zone in the Indian Ocean. Also, the growing tourism industries in the regency increase its vulnerability, which places most of its areas at high risk of tsunamis. This conditions are expected to increase the tsunami risk and loss potential alongside the coastal area. This research aims to model tsunami inundation and estimate the loss that caused by tsunami. Detailed DEM generated from UAV photogrammetry. Based on the model, several inundation scenario. Based on the model, the 4-m inundation did not affect a wide area. The modelling proves that the extent of tsunami-inundated areas is directly proportional to the wave height of tsunamis. The inundated area extend as the inundation scenario increase. Hilly karst topography prevent the water to inundate wider areas. The loss calculation shows that the material loss at the trading centre was relatively much higher than the other land uses because its included not only the value of the building but also the commodities and the strategic importance of their market.

Structure and physiognomy of mangrove strongly influenced by the zonation that occurred in the area of mangroves growth. The differences of zona growth will effect  to differences in the structure and composition of vegetation. There are three zones in the mangrove area, which is caused by the difference of flooding which also resulted in the difference to the salinity. The differences of growth zone will performed to the type vegetation performance (Physiognomy). This study is aims to prove the mangrove’s physiognomy that taken in the coastal area of Rempang Cate  Batam, on March 2014 to June 2014. This study was a survey with data collection using a vertical transect plots 100 m. Based on the research that has been done obtained difference vegetation physiognomy stands for every level of growth in each zone growth. Proximally found 13 species of mangroves in 8 families. The results of the analysis of the vegetation on the trees growth level are, Ceriops decandra have the greatest significance important value 167.55% on sapling (juvenille ) level is dominated by Rhizophora apiculata 120%, and seedling growth level dominated by Rhizophora apiculata  186.80%. Keywords: Structure and physiognomy, mangrove zonation
