Oxidative potential of trans‐3,5‐dihydroperoxy‐3,5‐dimethyl‐1,2‐dioxolane (DHPODMDO) has been explored in the facile thiocyanation of anilines and indoles through the efficient and in situ generation of SCN+ ion from sodium thiocyanate. The reactions proceed with regioselectivity under mild conditions at room temperature to afford the respective thiocyanate derivatives in excellent yields and low reaction times.

MOF-driven synthesis is considered as a promising alternative for the development of new catalytic materials with well-designed active sites. This synthetic approach is used here to gradually transform a new bimetallic MOF, composed of Pd and Fe as metal components, via the in situ generation of aniline under mild conditions. This methodology results in a compositionally homogeneous nanocomposite formed by Fedoped Pd nanoparticles and these, in turn, supported on an iron oxide-doped carbon. The nanocomposite has been fully characterized by several techniques such as IR, Raman, TEM, XPS, XAS, among others. The performance of this nanocomposite as an heterogeneous catalyst for hydrogenation of nitroarenes and nitrobenzene coupling with benzaldehyde has been evaluated, proving it to be an efficient and reusable catalyst.

A novel copper-catalyzed [3+2] cycloaddition reaction with concomitant in situ generation of benzoylacrylonitriles and nitrile imines from phenacylmalononitriles and hydrazonoyl chlorides, respectively, is reported. The reaction was performed using copper(I) chloride as catalyst and N-methylimidazole as a clean complexing agent/weak base to afford the functionalized 4-benzoyl-5-cyanopyrazoles in moderate to good yields and excellent regioselectivity under ambient conditions. This method provides rapid access to a wide range of highly functionalized 4-benzoyl-5-cyanopyrazoles.
