However, with the enactment of that law, the obligation no longer exists and Physical Education has become a devoid of meaning academic discipline, virtually extinct in the curricula of many undergraduate courses. The aim is therefore to establish a new meaning of physical education in higher education as something directly related to the reformulation of its contents. The method employed is that of participatory research because the researcher works with the Physical Education in Higher Education. The conclusion of the work points to the insertion of the required contents of physical education in the three main guiding principles of the teaching work in higher education such as teaching, research and extension.

Keywords: Physical Education. In South Africa, the scholarship of epistemic justice has taken on an historical gaze with higher education framed as a social institution that might ameliorate the historical traumas of colonialism. Undoing the legacies of colonialism has been framed as the democratisation of the knowledge project. Using the White Paper 3 of 1997 that posits academic freedom, institutional autonomy and public accountability as fundamental to institutional governance, in part I of this analysis I broadened public accountability to include the social, political and economic factors that inhibit or act as catalyst to the attainment of educational desire. In this second part publication, I am interested in developing and proposing epistemic impartiality. This concept is developed from Mitova’s proposition of ‘decolonising knowledge without too much relativism’, which ultimately fosters epistemic justice through rigorously scrutinising each epistemic tradition. My suggestion is that epistemic impartiality enables dialogue between divergent traditions.

Participationis not just symbolic . In some cases, the children are still used as a tool or even not at all involved in a study, both in the preparation and execution of the research process . This allows the children involved in the institutional and cultural context. The involvement of children is very important to know their views or perspectives of the problem and the expected demand . One method to understand the level of participation, using the approach of Roger Hart's ladder of participation. Involving children is an opportunity and a challenge the right of participation the children . The benefit is improving the mainstreaming the children’s right programs, activities and policies. Participatory approaches in research, encourage children to be actively, not only as a decorative or maniputif. Encouraging the child inisitaif to participatory research . This context, it should also ethical principles in research with children, including the principle of consent to engage, appreciate the views of the child, as well as confidentiality of information, and the child initiative. To involvement of children in research, need to give children the opportunity to engage in the research process from the planning, implementation and publication . And the important in the participation of children, need support of the community and institutions of higher education to facilitate the process of participatory child research. Keywords: child participation, research with children, child mainstreaming.Partisipasi bukan hanya sekedar simbolik.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore the wider impact of participatory research (PR) on the autistic academic, families and caregivers, and the researcher. Design/methodology/approach This commentary considers participatory methods from the perspective of an autistic female with experience on both sides of PR. Findings The positive aspects of PR outweigh the potential challenges faced, both by the researchers and the participants. Participatory methods are likely to increase the attractiveness of the research to participants. Originality/value Further research is required to explore both the impact PARC’s work has on the autistic academic in the long term, and whether it can yield similar results in alternative areas. In addition to this, consideration needs to be given as to whether the methodologies developed can be used to support a wider range of disabled individuals who are not currently able to access higher education.

Purpose Innovation and entrepreneurship are economic drivers promoting competition and growth among organizations throughout the world, many of which would not exist without well-established new product development processes coupled with intentional and strategic focus on research and development. New product development processes, such as the lean start-up methodology and design thinking, are well-known and thriving as a result of empirically grounded research efforts. Unfortunately, educational institutions and educational researchers, alike, are lagging when it comes to new program/degree development processes. Although the quantity of new degree offerings has increased substantially over the past several decades (in particular for multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary programs), limited research has been conducted to document key procedures associated with the creation of new degree programs. The purpose of this study is to show one approach to how students can be involved within the new program development process. Design/methodology/approach This approach uses participatory research, wherein students act as researchers and actively participate in the data collection and analysis process. Under the umbrella of participatory research, the study uses photovoice, photoelicitation and focus groups for collecting qualitative data. Findings Results suggest that students in one transdisciplinary studies in technology program value the following key attributes: learning style (agency and choice, active hands-on learning and real-world applications) and learning context (technology and design-focused assignments, integration of humanities and self-selected disciplines of interest). Originality/value Recommendations are provided for various higher education benefactors of the user-generated data, including administration, faculty, marketing, recruitment, advisors and the students themselves.
