In this article, we propose a reference light wave multiplexing scheme to increase the information capacity of computer-generated holograms. The holograms were generated by different reference light waves and superimposed together as a multiplexed hologram. A modified Gerchberg–Saxton algorithm was used to improve image quality, and different images could be reconstructed when the multiplexed hologram was illuminated by corresponding reference light waves. We performed both numerical simulations and optical experiments to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed scheme. Numerical simulations showed that the proposed method could reconstruct multiple images successfully by a single multiplexed hologram and optical experiments are consistently good with numerical simulations. It is expected that the proposed method has great potential to be widely applied in holographic displays in the future.

AbstractIn this paper,a numerical simulation of thermal process in the SMT laser microsoldering joint has been developed, in which, the influence on thermal process of the factors such as the thermal conductivity variation of solder with temperature, light reflection coefficient of the lead wire surface, and heat exchange on the surface of SMT materials all have been considered. In order to carry this numerical calculation practice and prove it's results, the reflexive characteristic of light wave to the SMT materials has been gauged, and the dynamic temperature process of laser microjoint has been measured by a new experimental method which was invented by the authors. The results of numerical simulation have been borne out by the tests, and the influences of heating parameters on thermal process has been analysed in this paper. The conclusions will be advantageous to the further study of the microjoint quality control in the SMT laser microsoldering.

Many experiments show features of the Raman spectrum at variance with the predictions of conventional theory. One persistent discrepancy, the cut-off in the spectrum of scattered light at about 1·5λ0, led Simon and Short to postulate that the scattered spectrum is not Raman light as such, but derives from enhanced Thomson scattering from plasmas in which a population of suprathermal electrons is present. We describe a set of simulations which model the propagation of a light wave through a plasma characterized by two electron temperatures with the hot electron fraction varying between 0 and 0·05. The results show that enhanced Thomson scattering will contribute to the spectra observed in some experiments at least and confirm the contention that the spectrum of the scattered light is not especially sensitive to the width of the suprathermal electron feature. We have also examined the effect of a finite quiver velocity on the enhanced Thomson spectrum as a function of the population of suprathermal electrons, in particular its effect on the wavelength bands.
