Abstract Identifiability guarantees that the mathematical model of a dynamic system is well defined in the sense that it maps unambiguously its parameters to the output trajectories. This paper casts identifiability in a set-membership (SM) framework and relates recently introduced properties, namely, SM-identifiability, μ-SM-identifiability, and ε-SM-identifiability, to the properties of parameter estimation problems. Soundness and ε-consistency are proposed to characterize these problems and the solution returned by the algorithm used to solve them. This paper also contributes by carefully motivating and comparing SM-identifiability, μ-SM-identifiability and ε-SM-identifiability with related properties found in the literature, and by providing a method based on differential algebra to check these properties.

Abstract The parametric decay process of a reversed shear Alfv\'{e}n eigenmeode (RSAE) into a geodesic acoustic mode (GAM) and a kinetic reversed shear Alfv\'{e}n eigenmode (KRSAE) is investigated using nonlinear gyrokinetic theory. The excitation conditions mainly require the pump RSAE amplitude to exceed a certain threshold, which could be readily satisfied in burning plasmas operated in steady-state advanced scenario. This decay process can contribute to thermal plasma heating and confinement improvement.

This paper presents a nonlinear excitation controller for transient stability combined differential geometry theory with PID technology. The controller ties the output of linear multi-variable excitation controller with the output of PID. Exact feedback linearization theory of differential geometry is applied to the design of linear multi-variable excitation controller for the single machine infinite system. Simulation results show that, compared with the general differential geometric controller, the proposed controller has the better control effect on power system and which remarkably improves the terminal voltage deficiencies in the control of generator.
