Abstract This paper analyzes the influencing factors of data error in chemical analysis of iron and steel materials, including sample preparation factor, sample decomposition factor, analytical instrument factor, reagent factor, analysis method factor. The purpose is to reduce the error of data measurement results and improve the accuracy of data analysis results by studying the measures of eliminating instrument application error, doing a good job in reagent selection, appropriately increasing the number of experiments, strictly following the operation specifications and reasonably using the allowable deviation table.

The amount of CO2 emissions from steelworks accounts for a great share of the total CO2 emissions from industry in China. Thus, reducing CO2 emissions from steelworks is urgent for China’s environmental protection and sustainable development. This study aims at identifying factors that influence CO2 emissions from steelworks and proposing measures to reduce CO2 emissions. The life cycle inventory (LCI) of iron and steel products implies the relationship between the CO2 emissions of the steelworks and the input variables of the LCI. The Tornado Chart Tool is utilized to calculate the variation of CO2 emissions caused by the change of each input variables of LCI. Then, mean sensitivity of each input variable is calculated and the ranking criterion developed is used to identify the main factors influencing the integrated steelworks. Subsequently, measures for reducing CO2 emissions are proposed. The results indicate that the very important influencing factors of CO2 emissions in steelworks are the CO2 emission factor of Blast Furnace Gas (BFG), liquid steel unit consumption of continuous casting, continuous casting slab unit consumption of hot rolling and hot metal ratio of steelmaking. Consequently, many efficient measures for reducing CO2 emissions have been proposed, such as removing CO2 contained in BFG, decreasing the hot metal ratio of Basic Oxygen Furnace (BOF), recycling BFG, optimizing the products’ structure, etc.

Bursting oscillations are ubiquitous in multi-time scale systems and have attracted widespread attention in recent years. However, research on experimental demonstration of the bursting oscillations induced by delayed bifurcation is very rarely reported. In this paper, a parametrically driven Rucklidge system is introduced and a distinct delayed behavior is observed when the time-varying parameter passes through the pitchfork bifurcation point. Different bursting patterns induced by such a delayed behavior are numerically investigated under different excitation amplitudes based on the fast–slow analysis method. Furthermore, in order to reproduce the bursting electronic signals and explore the underlying formation mechanisms experimentally, a real physical circuit of the parametrically driven Rucklidge system is developed by using off-the-shelf electronic devices. The real-time measurement results such as time series, phase portraits and transformed phase portraits are in good qualitative agreement with those obtained from the numerical computations. The experimental evidence to verify bursting oscillations induced by delayed pitchfork bifurcation is thus provided in this study.

This paper shows that the two most common impedance transformation networks for power amplifiers (PAs) can be designed to achieve optimum transformation at two frequencies. Hence, a larger bandwidth for the required impedance transformation ratio is achieved. A design procedure is proposed, which takes imperfections like losses into account. Furthermore, an analysis method is presented to estimate the maximum uncompressed output power of a PA with respect to frequency. Based on these results, a fully integrated PA with a dual-band impedance transformation network is designed and its functionality is proven by large signal measurement results. The amplifier covers the frequency band from 450 MHz to 1.2 GHz (3 dB bandwidth of the output power and efficiency), corresponding to a relative bandwidth of more than 100%. It delivers 23.7 dBm output power in the 1 dB compression point, having a power-added efficiency of 33%.

AbstractThe requirement of ultrasoft x-radiation (10 to 100A) for high resolution microradiographic analysis is established. Optimum methods are described for obtaining structure, mass distribution and mass-chemical information for microscopic sample regions as small as a few square microns and for total mass as small as a few micro-micrograms. The details of the techniques and of the instrumentation which are used in high resolution microradiographic analysis are presented.There has been a considerable amount of work reported on low magnification microradiography (up to 100 diameters) using conventional x-ray wavelengths.Relatively little work has been done in high resolution microradiography and with ultra soft x-radiation. Nearly all which has been reported has been in application to biological research where the need for such an analysis method seems to be greatest at this time. Outstanding among this work has been that of Engstrom and his co-workers.Much of the material which is presented in the present paper is intended as a supplement to that presented in the works of Engstrom and Lindstrom and with an emphasis upon the quantitative aspects of microradiographic analysis, using ultrasoft x-radiation.
