The AGT-W relation is a conjecture of the nontrivial duality between 4-dim quiver gauge theory and 2-dim conformal field theory. We verify a part of this conjecture for all the cases of quiver gauge groups by studying on the property of 3-point correlation function of conformal theory. We also mention the relation to [Formula: see text] algebra as one of the promising direction towards the proof of the remaining part.

Abstract This paper is designed to be a practical tool for constructing and investigating two-point correlation functions in defect conformal field theory, directly in physical space, between any two bulk primaries or between a bulk primary and a defect primary, with arbitrary spin. Although geometrically elegant and ultimately a more powerful approach, the embedding space formalism gets rather cumbersome when dealing with mixed symmetry tensors, especially in the projection to physical space. The results in this paper provide an alternative method for studying two-point correlation functions for a generic d-dimensional conformal field theory with a flat p-dimensional defect and d − p = q co-dimensions. We tabulate some examples of correlation functions involving a conserved current, an energy momentum tensor and a Maxwell field strength, while analysing the constraints arising from conservation and the equations of motion. A method for obtaining bulk-to-defect correlators is also explained. Some explicit examples are considered: free scalar theory on ℝp× (ℝq/ℤ2) and a free four dimensional Maxwell theory on a wedge.

The superspace formulation of the super-WZW model is used to obtain an explicit expression for the four-point correlation function on the super-sphere given that of the Bose case, for general groups. The correlation function is compared with that of the free super-scalar field theory with background charge and is shown to have an identical structure for the case of SU(2).

It is shown explicitly that the correlation functions of conformal field theories (CFT) with the logarithmic operators are invariant under the differential realization of Borel subalgebra of [Formula: see text]-algebra. This algebra is constructed by tensor-operator algebra of differential representation of ordinary [Formula: see text]. This method allows us to write differential equations which can be used to find general expression for three- and four-point correlation functions possessing logarithmic operators. The operator product expansion (OPE) coefficients of general logarithmic CFT are given up to third level.

Abstract We develop a group theoretical formalism to study correlation functions in defect conformal field theory, with multiple insertions of bulk and defect fields. This formalism is applied to construct the defect conformal blocks for three-point functions of scalar fields. Starting from a configuration with one bulk and one defect field, for which the correlation function is determined by conformal symmetry, we explore two possibilities, adding either one additional defect or bulk field. In both cases it is possible to express the blocks in terms of classical hypergeometric functions, though the case of two bulk and one defect field requires Appell’s function F4.

Abstract We present an explicit momentum space computation of the four-point function of the energy-momentum tensor in 4 spacetime dimensions for the free and conformally invariant theory of a scalar field. The result is obtained by explicit evaluation of the Feynman diagrams by tensor reduction. We work by embedding the scalar field theory in a gravitational background consistently with conformal invariance in order to derive all the terms the correlator consists of and all the Ward identities implied by the requirements of general covariance and anomalous Weyl symmetry. We test all these identities numerically in several kinematic configurations. Mathematica notebooks detailing the step-by-step computation are made publicly available through a GitHub repository (https://github.com/mirkos86/4-EMT-correlation-function-in-a-4d-CFT.). To the best of our knowledge, this is the first explicit result for the four-point correlation function of the energy-momentum tensor in a conformal and non supersymmetric field theory which is readily numerically evaluable in any kinematic configuration.
