Belaya River Section of Maikop deposits is the closest to the Maikop town, typical for Western and Central Ciscaucasus, well outcropped and studied and should be considered as a type section for the Maikop Group. Here it is possible to observe a continuous transition from the underlying light marls of Belaya Glina Formation to the dark clays of Pshekha Formation at the base of the Maikop succession. Pshekha Fm is characterized by nannoplankton NP21 and NP22 zones, dinocysts Phthanoperidinium amoenum (D13) and Wetzeliella symmetrica zones, mollusk association with Pterolucina batalpashinica at the bottom and rich fish fauna. The succession shows a normal polarity chron C13n for the base of the Pshekha and revers polarity C12r above. Marl of Polbian Bed with brackish Lower Solenovian mollusks, ostracod association with Disopontocipris oligocaenica, nannoplankton of NP23 Zone and dinocysts of Wetzeliella gohtii Zone lies above with erosion contact. Overlying Lower Morozkina Balka Subformation contains from non-calcareous clays and concludes the remains of fish and dinocysts of Wetzeliella gohtii Zone. The Upper Morozkina Balka Subformation contains calcareous sublayers with nannoplankton NP23 Zone in lower part and NP24 one above, dinocysts Chiropteridium partispinatum Zone, Rhombodinium draco Subzone. Polarity pattern we interpret to correspond to C10n, C9r and C9n. Batalpashinsk Formation corresponds to the time of maximum hydrogen sulfide contamination of the Late Oligocene basin and is dated by nannoplankton NP25 Zone, and dinocysts Chiropteridium patrispinatum Zone with Rhombodinium draco Subzone in lower part and Deflandrea spinulosa (non typica) Subzone in the middle and upper parts. Septarian+Zelenchuk Fm is composed of clays with septarian concretions, and interbedded sands with the same dinocysts and foraminifera with Spiroplectammina aff. terekensis. Calcareous interlayers in the top of the formation conclude nannoplankton of NP25-NN1 Zone. Karadzhalga Formation is composed mainly “fish lithofacies” and includes dinocysts zone Labyrinthodinium truncatum (Lower Miocene) in basal part.

In the Western Ciscaucasia, frequent droughts lead to a decrease in the yield of Echinacea purpurea L., which is a base for immunostimulating preparations. It is possible to mitigate the effect of sharp fluctuations in weather conditions by using growth regulators and microfertilizers, the exogenous application of which allows mobilizing the potential capabilities of the plant organism aimed at increasing its bioproductivity. The purpose of the research was to study the effect of foliar application the growth regulator Zircon and silicon-containing microfertilizer Siliplant on the yield of Echinacea biomass depending on the weather conditions. The weather conditions during the research years differed. Thus, in 2011– 2014, the average daily air temperatures and the amount of precipitation from May to July were almost at the level of the average annual values. And starting from 2015 there has been a significant increase in temperatures and a decrease in moisture availability. Foliar treatment of Echinacea purpurea with Zircon and Siliplant under drought ensured an increase in the biomass yield by 15–20% compared to the control, under stable weather conditions – by 11–18%. Their combined application increased the yield of the green weight by 24–31%, under stable weather conditions – by 18–24%. The high efficiency of the preparations was manifested in the growth of the root system under drought conditions, where the increase in yield was 40–43% at their combined application. The content of hydroxycinnamic acids in the raw material increased by 4–6% regardless of weather conditions and by 9– 10% in the variant Siliplant + Zircon application. Losses of biomass yield under hydrothermal stress amounted to 1–10%, of roots – 4–5%, while in the control the values were 15–25 and 18%, respectively. The biggest preservation of the yield was noted in the Siliplant + Zircon variant, where there was even a small increase in biomass yield – by 4–9%, in roots – by 4%.

The article provides the research results concerning the effect of antidicotyledonous herbicide Sekator Turbo, OD (a.i. amidosulfuron + iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium + mefenpyr-diethyl) in a tank mixture with various graminicides Quickstep, FEM (a.i. clethodim + haloxyfop-P-methyl), Bagheera, EC (a.i. quizalofop-P-tefuryl), Fuzilad Forte, EC (a.i. fluazifop-P-butyl), Miura, EC (a.i. quizalofop-P-ethyl), and Zellek-super, EC (a.i. haloxyfop-P-methyl) on the yield structure elements and the productivity of lowlinolenic (Nilin) and linolenic (FLIZ) varieties of oil flax on leached chernozem of the Western Ciscaucasia. We have found that the treatment of sowings with herbicides did not have a significant effect on the yield structure elements (thousand-seed weight and bulk weight of seeds). The treatment of sowings of the variety Nilin with the composition of Sekator Turbo + Bagheera or Sekator Turbo + Miura, and the variety FLIZ with Sekator Turbo + Bagheera, Sekator Turbo + Quickstep, Sekator Turbo + Fuzilad Forte, Sekator Turbo + Miura contributes to the receiving of oil flax yield at the level of the control with manual weeding. Tank mixtures of Sekator Turbo + Bagheera, Sekator Turbo + Miura decreased the oil content of seeds of the variety Nilin by 0.5 %. The application of herbicides Sekator Turbo, OD (0.1 l/ha) + Bagheera, EC (1.5 l/ha) provided the highest oil yield of the variety Nilin – 0.34 t/ha, and of the variety FLIZ – 0.54 t/ha. The composition of Sekator Turbo + Zellek-super led to a significant decrease in the productivity and oil content of seeds of the variety FLIZ – by 0.15 t/ha and 0.6 %, respectively.
