AbstractArtificial Intelligence applications often require to maintain a knowledge base about the observed environment. In particular, when the current knowledge is inconsistent with new information, it has to be updated. Such inconsistency can be due to erroneous assumptions or to changes in the environment. Here we considered the second case, and develop a knowledge update algorithm based on event logic that takes into account constraints according to which the environment can evolve. These constraints take the form of events that modify the environment in a well-defined manner. The belief update triggered by a new observation is thus explained by a sequence of events. We then apply this algorithm to the problem of locating people in a smart home and show that taking into account past information and move’s constraints improves location inference.

Smart home and artificial intelligence technologies are developing rapidly, and various smart home products associated with artificial intelligence (AI) improved the quality of living for occupants. Although some studies discussed the application of artificial intelligence in smart homes, few publications fully considered the integration of literature and products. In this paper, we aim to answer the research questions of “what is the trend of smart home technology and products” and “what is the relationship between literature and products in smart homes with AI”. Literature reviews and product reviews are given to define the functions and roles of artificial intelligence in smart homes. We determined the application status of artificial intelligence in smart home products and how it is utilized in our house so that we could understand how artificial intelligence is used to make smart homes. Furthermore, our results revealed that there is a delay between literature and products, and smart home intelligent interactions will become more and more popular.

Internet of Things is a rising innovation that makes our world more astute. In recent years, there has been immense development in the realm of insightful gadgets for home mechanization. Such contraptions are planned so as to facilitate communication among individuals and everyday home obligations. This paper exhibits a voice-controlled smart home with multi-functions using ESP32 as the wireless choice. Voice control (using human voice to control any load like light, fan, ac, geyser, motor etc.). The voice-commands are recognized by a dedicated hardware module and the recognized data is sent to database using ESP32. On the accepting unit, raspberry pi peruses the information from the database and deciphers the directions verbally expressed by the client and controls the family unit apparatuses.
