There is a growing belief that the next generation of information processing systems will be based on the paradigm of Intelligent and Cooperative Information Systems (ICISs). Such systems will involve information agents — distributed over the nodes of a common communication network — which work in a synergistic manner by exchanging information and expertise, coordinating their activities and negotiating how to solve parts of a common information-intensive problem. Along with motivating the importance of such systems the paper gives an overview of related research areas, notably Distributed Artificial Intelligence (DAI) and Distributed Databases (DDBs), and presents a generic architecture which views an ICIS as a community of communicating and cooperating intelligent information agents.

It is designed to study and create information systems and applications using distributed databases and file systems. To create information systems based on distributed databases, the server part of the MEAN software stack is used, which includes the NoSQL database type MongoDB, the Node platform and the Express framework. The Robo 3T shell for MongoDB allows you to make more visual work with collections. They also addressed the foundations of administration and replication in a DBMS MongoDB. Mongoose is used as a database object modeling tool.js. In order to create frontend parts of websites and web applications, we study the use of free software Bootstrap, HTML5 Boilerplate, Initializr. A detailed process of developing and testing the REST API-application based on the MVC model is presented. As a result, students will be able to create a complete distributed information system based on modern nosql-type DBMS. Distributed data stores (large amounts of unstructured information) are also used to build applications using the example of Hadoop Apache with the Spark and Scala tools. For the purpose of convenience of the tutorial program codes hosted in the cloud publishing. Designed for students, bachelors, masters, postgraduates and specialists in the design of distributed information systems based on modern database NoSQL-type, creating mobile and Internet applications. The manual is also useful for people engaged in self-education

SummaryAn entity relationship level design is given for medical information systems. This design is aimed at-conceptual-integration of hospital information systems, patient history record keeping systems, future diagnosis systems, etc. In particular, it lays out a foundation for distributed databases.

Due to the current technological and economical context, there is an increasing need for cooperating information systems based on federated databases. Though the technical issues of these architectures have been studied for long, the way to build them has not triggered as much effort. This paper describes a general architecture, a methodology and a CASE environment intended to address the problem of providing users and programmers with an abstract interface to independent heterogeneous and distributed databases. The architecture comprise a hierarchy of mediators and a repository that dynamically transform actual data into a virtual homogeneous database and allow client applications to query it. The InterDB approach provides a complete methodology to define this architecture, including schema recovery through reverse engineering, database integration and mapping building. The methodology is supported by the DB-MAIN CASE tool that helps developers generate the mediators and their repository.

To successfully confront a disaster, it is necessary the coordinated and collaborative participation of multiple agencies related to public safety, which provide a response consistent with the requirements of emergency environment and all those affected. For this, is necessary the permanent information exchange between the involved agencies that allows to joint its efforts and to face the emergency of the best possible way. This article describes the interoperability platform architecture, which enables agencies involved in management of an emergency, exchange information using their own information systems and computer tools. The architecture core is inside its Shared Information Space, which manages it as a single storage entity, all information coming from the information systems integrated to the platform. It is founded on a non-relational distributed database and a P2P communications network, to share out the workload between all the platform nodes in order to award availability and scalability to the architecture.
