ABSTRACT The complete sequence of 12,851 nucleotides of the mouse lactate dehydrogenase-A (LDH-A) gene has been determined. It includes eight exons, seven introns, promoter and regulatory regions. The B1 repetitive elements present in intron III and VI are oriented in opposite orientation, and they share 72% sequence homology. The exon-intron organization of mouse LDH-Agene is compared with the organizations of other dehydrogenase genes, and the molecular evolution of the nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide binding domains is discussed.

ABSTRACT The complete nucleotide sequence of an isolate of grapevine satellite virus (GV-Sat) was determined by next-generation sequencing (NGS) and compared with the single available complete sequence. The NGS data unexpectedly provided evidence for the existence of multimeric forms of GV-Sat, which were experimentally confirmed, allowing the redefinition of GV-Sat genomic ends.

ABSTRACTHorizontal transfer ofblaKPC-harboring plasmids contributes significantly to the inter- and intraspecies spread ofKlebsiella pneumoniaecarbapenemase (KPC). Here we report the complete nucleotide sequence of ablaKPC-harboring IncFIA plasmid, pBK32533, fromEscherichia coli. pBK32533 is a cointegrate plasmid comprising of a 72-kb sequence identical to that of the nonconjugative pBK30661 plasmid plus an additional 170-kb element that harbors the genes for plasmid transfer. pBK32533 demonstrates howblaKPCcan be spread from a nonconjugative plasmid through cointegration.
