Echocardiography provides clinically important information in suspected and confirmed cases of pulmonary hypertension. By assessing the probability of pulmonary hypertension and contributing to prognostic evaluation of patients at baseline and during follow-up, echocardiography has gained an important place in both diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms recommended by current European Society of Cardiology/European Respiratory Society guidelines.
