Quantum topological effects like Aharonov–Bohm and Aharonov–Casher effects in the metallic ring with a localized impurity are studied. The impurity couples with the conduction electrons by exchange and correlated hybridized interactions. It is shown that the impurity changes the charge and spin persistent current oscillations (the magnitudes and the periods) in contrast with the normal metal situation.

The system of Kohn–Sham equations is solved self-consistently for the two-dimensional, spatially separated electrons and holes. We find the series of magic numbers for the total angular momentum of the electrons and holes in a strong magnetic field. The change of the angular momentum of the charge carriers is shown to lead to the persistent current oscillations.

Microscopic spin and charge persistent currents in a metallic ring with the Anderson magnetic impurity are studied. It is shown that the impurity changes caused by the external magnetic and electric fluxes, the Aharonov-Bohm and Aharonov-Casher oscillations (magnitudes and periods), contrast with the normal metallic case. Spin-charge separation is the reason for the fractional Φ0/N (N is the number of electrons) period of the Aharonov-Bohm oscillations and F0/(N−2M) (M is the number of paired electrons) period of the Aharonov-Casher oscillations.
