Static var generator (SVG) basic principle and control method are introduced in the article, a direct current control method for SVG is put forward based on d-q transformation, this method is also analyzed from theory and made simulation model, the simulation results show that this control method is reasonable and effective.

This paper presents an application of reduced switch multilevel inverter topology to STACOM. This topology consists of basic unit in which two switches are connected in series and one H-bridge unit. Multilevel inverter is beneficial in terms of reliability and improved output quality. Multilevel inverter have only drawback of higher number of switches. This reduced switch topology has less number of switches as compared to conventional Cascaded H Bridge Inverter. Compared to direct control method, indirect control method is simple but due to fast response and precise control, direct current control method is quite effective. In this work STACOM is implemented to improve the Power factor of the power system. An extensive digital simulation of the recommended STATCOM and its controller is carried out using MATLAB/SIMULINK software to study system performance. Simulation results prove that using Direct current control technique overall power factor is improved.

This paper mainly describes the mechanism and elimination method of harmonic in low-voltage power grid. Improve direct current control method in the traditional filter method,filtering the harmonic and timely compensating reactive power in the grid. On this condition, it can make the power grid safe and stability. At the same time simulate the improved direct current control method, and the results verify the correctness and rationality of the control method.


This paper is focused on the development of the rectifier for three phase voltage source to achieve unity power factor at input supply mains. The mathematical model is developed for PWM using direct current control and to apply 3- phase voltage source rectifier decoupled with feed-forward control. This method regulates the output voltage with reduced harmonics. Different PWM techniques such as Hysteresis band and Carrier based sinusoidal is applied and their performance is analysed. This work is implemented in MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. The results confirm the validity of the model and its control method.
