With the decline of the Indonesian motorcycle market in recent years, there is a declining performance of primary motorcycle dealers in general. The chapter proposes the mobile business model that enables to the assistance of enhancing the traditional business of PT Sejahtera Rental Utama (PT SRU), a major supplier of a two-wheel and three-wheel that supports the wide SME business in Indonesia. With wide coverage of the market owned by PT SRU, there are urgent needs to embrace mobile strategy and introduce innovative leasing strategy to strengthen its current marketing strategy. The chapter examines the use of Business Model Canvas (BMC) and Balanced Scorecard to assist the app development by providing a comprehensive overview to address the needs of customers, introducing financial measurement, comprehensive design of internal business process, and introducing innovative strategy through leasing business. The outcome of the chapter is expected to increase the company performance, enlarge market coverage, and an aggressive strategy to reach SMEs.

This article aims at the implementation of safety at work in the daily life of a Junior Company, which often uses laboratories for chemical analysis. To achieve the objective, initially a risk map was structured. Then, a business model was defined, adding safety factors through the methodology of Business Model Canvas. And finally, the application of the Balanced Scorecard, proposing objectives and operation’s indicators relating this specific junior company. When the analysis was done, the presence of hazards was detected in the laboratory and there have been set ways to eliminate or minimize these risks and accidents at work. Therefore, after the implementation of this study, the company has a structured safety culture, allowing focused actions of improvements, education and training.


Based on teamwork in globalized working environments and linked to the balanced scorecard approach to provide a balanced view of the organizational goals, value creating Design Thinking is an applied methodology to solve problems following a creative approach to stimulate team cooperation and creativity with the ultimate purpose of achieving innovative processes to improve the organization. To do this, the author describes the Business Model Canvas, Social Business Model Canvas, and Lean Canvas Model as comprehensive tools to foster entrepreneurship. In the chapter, the author proposes the matrix of stakeholders to have a clear vision of the firm and to suggest a successful strategy focused on creating value for the company joining the market.

Business model Canvas menjadi sebuah alat untuk menganalisis kinerja perusahaan. BMC digunakan secara luas sebagai langkah awal untuk menentukan proses bisnis perusahaan. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis melakukan analisis proses bisnis di Universitas XYZ, salah satu universitas terbaik di Indonesia. Melalui proses bisnis yang diterjemahkan ke dalam BMC kemudian dilakukan transformasi hasil analisis ke dalam 4 perspektif area Balanced Scorecard untuk melihat prosentase bobot setiap prespektif. Jenis data yang digunakan adalah data primer dengan cara melakukan observasi dan interview dengan karyawan, mahasiswa, dan alumni. Data sekunder didapat dari beberapa dokumen dan hasil pencarian dari internet. Metode yang digunakan adalah Business model Canvas dan Balanced Scorecard. Hasil dari penelitian adalah dengan memasukkan saran ke dalam proses bisnis selanjutnya maka Universitas XYZ memiliki kapasitas dan peluang yang sangat baik untuk dapat mempertahankan posisinya sebagai salah satu Top Rank University di Indonesia

Business Model Canvas becomes a company performance appraisal. BMC is widely used for initial design of business process. In this research, the author is focusing on analyzing business process in XYZ University, one of the largest well known universities in Indonesia. Through the business process, translated onto BMC to see wider view from the beginning to the end of the process. The BMC and then transforms into 4 areas of Balanced Scorecard to see percentage of 4 areas of the business process. Type of data is primary, by observing and interviewing some employees, students, and alumni, and secondary by searching information through social media. The methods is Business Model Canvas and Balanced Scorecard. The result is by including some inputs, business process of XYZ University confirms that the university will survive in long term and has good capacity to remain as one of the high rank universities in Indonesia.

Este trabalho visa apresentar a experiência da disciplina de Empreendedorismo na UFS como fator motivador do desenvolvimento de competências para o bibliotecário documentalista, onde participaram alunos do curso de Biblioteconomia e Documentação, dentre alunos de outros cursos. O tema do empreendedorismo tem sido debatido no campo profissional e apresenta-se como alternativa importante que permite aos profissionais desenvolver ações e estratégias inovadoras em sua atuação diária. Trata-se de um estudo que tem como principal mérito apresentar esse caso a fim de demonstrar que é possível, a partir de ações de extensão e da formação continuada, desenvolver competências empreendedoras nos futuros profissionais bibliotecários documentalistas, aplicando metodologias como o Ciclo de Aprendizagem Vivencial, o Business Model CANVAS, Design Thinking, e o Plano de Negócios. Ao todo participaram da disciplina 7 alunos do curso de Biblioteconomia e Documentação da UFS, que preencheram formulário eletrônico a fim de fornecer suas percepções sobre a aprendizagem obtida.
