The relevance of the research topic is that energy-saving is the key element of modern energy development in the country. In Kazakhstan, energy-saving, and improving the energy efficiency of agriculture is currently a priority task that will solve energy, environmental and economic problems. Without a solution to these problems, the country's development will inevitably hold back. The head of state in the field of energy conservation has set a goal to reduce the energy intensity of the gross domestic product by at least 25% by 2020, and annual energy-savings of 3.5% after 2020. Industry in rural areas consumes more than 70 % of all electricity. As part of the comprehensive plan, their energy audit was conducted 50/50 (50 % of the financing is the enterprises' funds, the remaining 50 % is the state budget). As a result of the energy audit, systematic measures were developed to reduce the energy intensity of the industry, including the electric power industry. Large unproductive losses of energy resources are in the private sector, in this connection, since 2019, the energy audit of JSC "Kazakhstan center for modernization and development of housing and communal services (housing and communal services)" is conducted on budget funds in the private sector. Energy conservation is one of the most important and strategic tasks of the country. Rapidly developing production requires additional energy costs. This is confirmed by the annual increase in energy tariffs. In turn, resources are not unlimited, and their irrational consumption will inevitably lead to not only economic but also to an environmental crisis.

This paper deals with the study of energy flow in a 220/ 66 kV substation. This study emphasizes on energy conservation by reducing power losses. Saving energy is the primary and overwhelming motivating factor for making energy improvements. Energy conservation can increase the environmental quality and higher the savings. Energy conservation lowers the energy costs by preventing future resource depletion (renewable energy source). Utilizing the electric power in the proper manner without wastage is the most important thing to consider. The main objectives are accumulating data at various energy points, identifying energy losses and critical junctions, enabling energy conservation and cost savings. Planning the use of electrical power in the most judicious way such that the usage as well as its wastage is minimized. For this purpose a energy management technique called energy audit is adopted. Energy auditing is required to determine the energy flows through various electrical installations such as feeders, transformers, substations in an electrical network system.

Sustainable development of the country is possible by adapting various energy conservation measures. Energy conservation helps in using energy in effectivemanner. Application of advanced technology and improved operation and maintenance practices contributes towards energy conservation. Smart streetlight framework is an essential piece of the smart city, which represents 10-40% aggregate power utilization in the city. In this paper the energy audit report is presented for streetlights in the industry and also presented various energy conservation measures with the help of sensors and automation. It was observed that Passive Infra-red (PIR) sensor helps a lot in saving energy where movement of people is low.

Energy conservation is one of many technique applied to reduce the global warming effect. Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) contributes to encourage energy conservation by ITS Eco Campus programs. It has so many activities, one of them is audit energy as one way to get energy efficiency in educational area. ITS central library is most accessable building both student and other academics community with total area more than 400 square matres and high occupation rate approximately 90% everyday. Energy audit techniques were carried out by an energy audit team to identify any energy conservation opportunities (ECOs). walk-through assessment and data analysis were conducted over all building zones. These levels of assessments proved that the building and its mechanical and electrical systems were improperly maintained and inefficiently operated. So that, ITS Central Library will be redesigned to be smart building by improving light intentensity level, humidity, and room temperature appropriate with ASHRAE90.1-2005. Thus exterior building like wall, glass, roof and floor will be redesigned to emphasize minimum total load. Replacement single glass to double glass reduce the load conduction and radiation through glass, approximately 2,7%.
