The importance of sustainable building maintenance is growing as part of the Sustainable Building concept. The integration and implementation of new technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), smart sensors, and information and communication technology (ICT) into building facilities generate a large amount of data that will be utilized to better manage the sustainable building maintenance and staff. Anomaly prediction models assist facility managers in informing operators to perform scheduled maintenance and visualizing predicted facility anomalies on building information models (BIM). This study proposes a Machine Learning (ML) anomaly prediction model for sustainable building facility maintenance using an IoT sensor network and a BIM model. The suggested framework shows the data management technique of the anomaly prediction model in the 3D building model. The case study demonstrated the framework’s competence to predict anomalies in the heating ventilation air conditioning (HVAC) system. Furthermore, data collected from various simulated conditions of the building facilities was utilized to monitor and forecast anomalies in the 3D model of the fan coil. The faults were then predicted using a classification model, and the results of the models are introduced. Finally, the IoT data from the building facility and the predicted values of the ML models are visualized in the building facility’s BIM model and the real-time monitoring dashboard, respectively.

In this article, the proposed feedback-based resource management approach provides data processing, huge computation, large storage, and networking services between Internet of Things (IoT)-based Cloud data centers and the end-users. The real-time applications of IoT, such as smart city, smart home, health care management systems, traffic management systems, and transportation management systems, require less response time and latency to process the huge amount of data. The proposed feedback-based resource management plan provides a novel resource management technique, consisting of an integrated architecture and maintains the service-level agreement (SLA). It can optimize energy consumption, response time, network bandwidth, security, and reduce latency. The experimental results are tested with the IFogSim tool kit and have proved that the proposed approach is effective and suitable for smart communication in IoT-based cloud.

Objective: Preservation of patient’s medical information in health care industries under Medical Sensor Networks (MSN). Methods: This paper proposes a novel key management technique known as k- secure with FBKM, which generates a robust key to allow communication between sensors present in the Body Sensor Units (BSU) and Body Central Unit (BCU). This proposed work strengthens the FBKM technique which is placed between BCU and the point accessible to medical experts at a remote place in the overall health care monitoring environment. Results: The FBKM technique has proved its success in authentication and security by improving genuine acceptance rate, false rejection rate, and declining false acceptance rate. Conclusion: The k- secure with FBKM scheme enhances the performance of the existing FBKM scheme in Medical Sensor Networks.

Purpose of the Study: School decision-making promotes school autonomy and success. Today’s contemporary approach supports the idea that operative school functioning and development are characteristically accomplished when there is decentralized decision-making. Hence, the purpose of the study is to find the balance between decision-making in a centralized and decentralized structure in a school based system. Methodology: An extensive search of major databases was undertaken, which identified 35,822 studies on the subject, wherein 9 met the inclusion criteria. Employing a systematic literature review, data were extracted and analyzed using thematic analysis. Two themes arose from the analysis of the studies, such as decision-making as a school-based management practice and decision-making towards school performance. Main Findings: Studies on decision-making in school management from a sociological approach. It also highlights the need to mix centralized and decentralized techniques to improve education. Following are some debate points that might want more research: (1) school principal decision-making and (2) school running expense and spending decision-making. Research Implications: The study's findings will aid in improving staff performance and community comprehension of schooling. Increased participation of internal and external stakeholders can boost school autonomy and accountability. The novelty of the study: As a school-based management technique, the correct balance of centralized and decentralized decision-making might enable schools to function at their best while corporations attain peak performance.

In Nepal, scientific forest managementhas been practiced as an effective forest management technique to utilize forest resources sustainably. However, the program has faced many controversies such as intentional logging of only high-valued timber species like Shorearobusta. In addition, few believe this program is severely affecting the regeneration productivity and species diversity in the natural forests. In order to address these issues, we examinedthe regeneration condition and plant species diversity in the stands where scientific forest management operations were carried out. The data related to regeneration status and species diversity were collected using a systematic random sampling of the selected stands. Our results showed good regeneration conditions (Seedling >5000, Sapling>2000) in all the studied stands. The tree species community was dominated by S.robusta(Sal) followed by Schleicheraoleosa (Kusum) and Casia fistula (Rajbriksha). The value of diversity indices of different species varied significantly between felling series. The highest diversity was found in the second year felling series with the Simpsons Index of dominance value 0.6934 and the lowest species diversity was in the first year felling series with a value of 0.8448. It can be recommended that the regeneration felling practice has helped in promoting the regeneration condition and growth.

Understanding the ecology of species at risk is extremely important for their conservation and management. Due to land clearing for urban expansion, agriculture, and the import of pets, several snake species including the red-tongue viper (Gloydius ussuriensis) on Jeju Island of South Korea, have become threatened. We studied morphology, distribution, habitat characteristics, diet, and reproduction of red-tongue viper to provide a higher understanding of species ecology. This species on average reach 242–580 mm snout-vent length and is found in a wide range of habitat from mountain forest to lowland areas. Adult snakes prey almost entirely on amphibians followed by mammals and centipedes. The mating usually takes place in spring and birth takes place in autumn. This study points out the major threats and ill-information if addressed will not only contribute to the conservation efforts but also improve the negative attitudes that people hold toward these fascinating animals. The ecological data of G. ussuriensis herein provides basic information which assists in designing the management technique for conservation. Similar applications may be generalized and used to other vulnerable species to detect and quantify population ecology and risks, bolstering conservation methods that can be used to optimize the efficacy of conservation measures.

Teamwork is a well-known management technique for eliciting commitment and exerting control in private companies. However, less is known about how teamwork operates as a management tool in welfare state bureaucracies. Tying critical management and street-level bureaucracy studies, this article explores teamwork as a key component in the normative control of street-level bureaucrats within the Swedish Social Insurance Agency. Based on extensive ethnographic research, the analysis demonstrates how teamwork functions as a subtle steering device in public management. The analysis identifies teams as: a) performative tools; b) cushioning structures; and c) “moral corsets” on caseworkers. By the seamless linking of vertical and horizontal governance mechanisms, teamwork was instrumental in achieving organizational targets, thereby changing the nature of casework and reducing caseworkers’ discretion. The findings call for more research on the normative shaping of caseworkers under new forms of public management.
