Autonomous diesel power plants found the active application at the organization of autonomous power supply of the mining enterprises. In article the problem of increase of efficiency of use of control units is considered by the active power of synchronous generators of diesel power plants. As a solution the new innovative offer in the form of the developed device of the measuring converter of active current which is one of the main components of game-trolno-measuring equipment of diesel power plants is offered. The developed scheme is simpler, in comparison with the similar converters of active current executed on the basis of current transformers. In the developed scheme of the measuring converter it is offered to use the differentiating induction converters of current as primary measuring converters. It allows to reduce many times number of the elements entering the standard scheme, and also mass-dimensional characteristics of the device

A new control strategy for active power filters is proposed, modeled and implemented in order to improve the power quality of a line commutated converter High voltage DC link. The ability of reactive power and harmonics reductions are generally met by using passive and active power filters. In this paper, modified active power filter with a modified harmonics pulse width modulation algorithm is used to minimize the source harmonics and force the AC supply current to be in the same phase with AC voltage source at both sending and receiving sides of a line commutated converter high voltage DC link. Therefore, it is considered as power factor corrector and harmonics eliminator with random variations in the load current. The modified harmonics pulse width modulation algorithm is applicable for active power filter based on a three-phase five-level and seven-level cascaded H-bridge voltage source inverter. Simulation results show that the suggested modified multilevel active power filters improve total harmonics distortion of both voltage and current with almost unity effective power factor at both AC sides of high voltage DC link. Therefore, modified active power filter is an effective tool for power quality improvement and preferable for line commutated converter high voltage DC link at different load conditions.

A load profile measuring device takes information about the power consumption without modification of the power lines. Using current transformers, the current is measured in each of the phases and the active power consumed by the user is determined. The developed software for it allows for simultaneous recording at different user selectable timing intervals. The device is designed and tested in two facilities - a School and a Farm.
