Video surveillance automation is used in two key modes: watching for known threats in real-time and searching for events of interest after the fact. Typically, real-time alerting is a localized function, for example, an airport security center receives and reacts to a “perimeter breach alert,” while investigations often tend to encompass a large number of geographically distributed cameras like the London bombing, or Washington sniper incidents. Enabling effective event detection, query and retrieval of surveillance video for preemption, and investigation, involves indexing the video along multiple dimensions. This chapter presents a framework for event detection and surveillance search that includes: video parsing, indexing, query and retrieval mechanisms. It explores video parsing techniques that automatically extract index data from video indexing, which stores data in relational tables; retrieval which uses SQL queries to retrieve events of interest and the software architecture that integrates these technologies.

Throughout the years, technologies have developed varied techniques for animators to create films. One of the oldest and interesting techniques of animating is Rotoscope by tracing every single frame from live action footages and enhancing it with animator’s style. In terms of anthropomorphism, it creates an uncanny realistic effect because it mimics the reality of the structure, the proportion and the movement. Due to its easy process in animating, there are some critiques and debates about how far rotoscoping can be considered as the “true” animation. This research would cover the identity of rotoscoping, professionals and animator’s perspective as well as the aesthetic of this technique. Keywords: rotoscope, realism, true animation, perspective and aesthetic

In this paper, we propose the mathematical apparatus and architecture of a multiprocessor transport system on a chip (MPTSoC). Software and hardware implementation of an intelligent video surveillance system based on the "system on chip" technology and using a hardware accelerator of the well-known method of forming reference vectors. The architecture includes complex functional blocks for analyzing video information based on parallel algorithms for finding image reference points and a set of elementary processors for performing complex computational procedures for algorithmic analysis. using design tools based on a reconfigurable system on chip that allows you to estimate the amount of hardware resources. The proposed MPTSoC architecture makes it possible to speed up the processing and analysis of video information when solving problems of detecting and recognizing emergencies and suspicious behaviors
