In wireless sensor networks Energy-efficient routing is an important issue due to the limited battery power within the network, Energy consumption is one of the important performance factors. Specifically for the election of cluster head selection and distance between the cluster head node and base station. The main objective of this proposed system is to reduce the energy consumption and prolong the network lifetime. This paper introduces a new clustering algorithm for energy efficient routing based on a cluster head selection

One challenge in under-water wireless sensor networks (UWSN) is to find ways to improve the life duration of networks, since it is difficult to replace or recharge batteries in sensors by the solar energy. Thus, designing an energy-efficient protocol remains as a critical task. Many cluster-based routing protocols have been suggested with the goal of reducing overall energy consumption through data aggregation and balancing energy through cluster-head rotation. However, the majority of current protocols are concerned with load balancing within each cluster. In this paper we propose a clustered chain-based energy efficient routing algorithm called CCRA that can combine fuzzy c-means (FCM) and ant colony optimization (ACO) create and manage the data transmission in the network. Our analysis and results of simulations show a better energy management in the network.

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have captivated substantial attention from both industrial and academic research in the last few years. The major factor behind the research efforts in that field is their vast range of applications which include surveillance systems, military operations, health care, environment event monitoring, and human safety. However, sensor nodes are low potential and energy constrained devices; therefore, energy-efficient routing protocol is the foremost concern. In this paper, an energy-efficient routing protocol for wireless sensor networks is proposed. Our protocol consists of a routing algorithm for the transmission of data, cluster head selection algorithm, and a scheme for the formation of clusters. On the basis of energy analysis of the existing routing protocols, a multistage data transmission mechanism is proposed. An efficient cluster head selection algorithm is adopted and unnecessary frequency of reclustering is exterminated. Static clustering is used for efficient selection of cluster heads. The performance and energy efficiency of our proposed routing protocol are assessed by the comparison of the existing routing protocols on a simulation platform. On the basis of simulation results, it is observed that our proposed routing protocol (EE-MRP) has performed well in terms of overall network lifetime, throughput, and energy efficiency.

In wireless sensor network, there are many hurdles takes place in providing quality of service routing to a desired level. The majority of routing protocols in wireless sensor networks concentrates on energy efficiency as a prime factor. Developing an energy–efficient routing protocol has a significant impact on the overall lifetime and stability of the sensor network. In this paper, we have considered three types of sensor nodes. Some fraction of the sensor nodes are equipped with the additional energy resources than the other nodes. We have assumed that all the sensor nodes are uniformly distributed. In the Heterogeneous WSN, we proposed an energy efficient cluster head election protocol and using the improved Prim’s algorithm to construct an inter-cluster routing. Simulation results show out method is more efficient to reduce and balance energy consumption and hence prolong the lifetime of WSN.
