The paper presents a method to build MMG model of ship motion for a oil supply vessel (OSV) with dynamic positioning system. It is assumed that the ship motion exposed to environment disturbances like wind, wave & currents, The simulation results show that the model of the vessel and environment disturbances are suitable, and the method is practicable .

ABSTRACT This paper presents the designs of two observers, which are: the extended Kalman filter and the nonlinear passive observer. Based on the measured values of ship position and heading, the observers estimate the surge, sway and yaw velocities of the ship motion. The observers make use of the simplified nonlinear mathematical model of ship motion in which the neglected ship dynamics and disturbances are modelled using bias. The designed observers firstly have been simulated on a computer model where their parameters were calibrated, and then were implemented on the physical model of the training ship “Blue Lady” in the ship handling centre in Ilawa-Kamionka. The comparative analysis was done with respect to the estimated variables describing the ship motion in three directions: surge, sway and yaw

In order to conduct a comprehensive analysis and optimization improvements of the swash-plate engine, it is necessary to analyze and discuss the motion of the swash-plate completely. Based on the motion model of the piston and the connecting rod of the engine, the motion tendencies were simulated. The results suggest the circumferential distance can cause vibration, noise, and rough running of the piston and the connecting rod in the operating process. Besides, the inertia forces/moments and the unbalanced motion are considered to be the main sources of the vibration and noise. On the basis of the results, we propose a “∞” guide groove, which can reduce the vibration and noise of the swash-plate engine, to improve the kinematical parameters.
