In this essay, the cooling method design was discussed from the perspective of architecture design using passive design based on the climate and geological environment of Shenzhen city. It concluded that shading and natural ventilation should be the major cooling method for this area, and design recommendations were put forward based on analysis from the perspective of plan layout, shape design, space form and detailed construction design.

Three-dimensional convolutional neural networks (3D CNNs) have gained popularity in many complicated computer vision applications. Many customized accelerators based on FPGAs are proposed for 2D CNNs, while very few are for 3D CNNs. Three-D CNNs are far more computationally intensive and the design space for 3D CNN acceleration has been further expanded since one more dimension is introduced, making it a big challenge to accelerate 3D CNNs on FPGAs. Motivated by the finding that the computation patterns of 2D and 3D CNNs are very similar, we propose a uniform architecture design for accelerating both 2D and 3D CNNs in this paper. The uniform architecture is based on the idea of mapping convolutions to matrix multiplications. A customized mapping module is developed to generate the feature matrix tilings with no need to store the entire enlarged feature matrix on-chip or off-chip, a splitting strategy is adopted to reconstruct a convolutional layer to adapt to the on-chip memory capacity, and a 2D multiply-and-accumulate (MAC) array is adopted to compute matrix multiplications efficiently. For demonstration, we implement an accelerator prototype with a high-level synthesis (HLS) methodology on a Xilinx VC709 board and test the accelerator on three typical CNN models: AlexNet, VGG16, and C3D. Experimental results show that the accelerator achieves state-of-the-art throughput performance on both 2D and 3D CNNs, with much better energy efficiency than the CPU and GPU.

In this article, a class of architecture design problems is explored with perfect matchings (PMs). A perfect matching in a graph is a set of edges such that every vertex is present in exactly one edge. The perfect matching approach has many desirable properties such as complete design space coverage. Improving on the pure perfect matching approach, a tree search algorithm is developed that more efficiently covers the same design space. The effect of specific network structure constraints (NSCs) and colored graph isomorphisms on the desired design space is demonstrated. This is accomplished by determining all unique feasible graphs for a select number of architecture problems, explicitly demonstrating the specific challenges of architecture design. With this methodology, it is possible to enumerate all possible architectures for moderate scale-systems, providing both a viable solution technique for certain problems and a rich data set for the development of more capable generative methods and other design studies.

A methodology for developing optimized designs for symmetric-centerbody ramjet powered missiles, using a genetic algorithm as the driver for the system optimization process, has been developed. The methodology described in this paper allows for a comprehensive but efficient exploration of the design space. This global optimization process is made possible by performance prediction codes, which can provide preliminary design-level accuracy very efficiently. This work demonstrates the first truly comprehensive design strategy for this type of device. The paper contains a discussion of the methodology and shows results for a typical design scenario.
