In view of the common automatic white balance algorithm complexity is too high and the characteristics of the hardware to realize real-time. This paper combines gray world model and the advantage of white point detection algorithm, an adaptive control process is used to calculate gain coefficient and to picture the three-component white balance correction. On this basis to realize the automatic white balance based on the zynq RTL implementation of the algorithm. Compared with the traditional method, the cost of hardware is reduced, and the efficiency and flexibility of the algorithm are improved. Experimental results show that the algorithm can run smoothly and realize accurate correction of off-color images.

Underwater images generally suffer from quality degradations, such as low contrast, color cast, blurring, and hazy effect due to light absorption and scattering in the water medium. In applying these images to various vision tasks, single image-based underwater image enhancement has been challenging. Thus, numerous efforts have been made in the field of underwater image restoration. In this paper, we propose a successive color correction method with a minimal reddish artifact and a superpixel-based restoration using a color-balanced underwater image. The proposed successive color correction method comprises an effective underwater white balance based on the standard deviation ratio, followed by a new image normalization. The corrected image based on this color balance algorithm barely produces a reddish artifact. The superpixel-based dark channel prior is exploited to enhance the color-corrected underwater image. We introduce an image-adaptive weight factor using the mean of backscatter lights to estimate the transmission map. We perform intensive experiments for various underwater images and compare the performance of the proposed method with those of 10 state-of-the-art underwater image-enhancement methods. The simulation results show that the proposed enhancement scheme outperforms the existing approaches in terms of both subjective and objective quality.

Aiming at the color distortion of the restored image in the sky region, we propose an image dehazing algorithm based on double priors constraint. Firstly, we divided the haze image into sky and non-sky regions. Then the Color-lines prior and dark channel prior are used for estimating the transmission of sky and non-sky regions respectively. After introducing color-lines prior to correct sky regions restored by the dark channel prior, we get an accurate transmission. Finally, the local media mean value and standard deviation are used to refine the transmission to obtain the dehazing image. Experimental results show that the algorithm has obvious advantages in the recovery of the sky area.

This paper proposed a new method of underwater images restoration and enhancement which was inspired by the dark channel prior in image dehazing field. Firstly, we proposed the bright channel prior of underwater environment. By estimating and rectifying the bright channel image, estimating the atmospheric light, and estimating and refining the transmittance image, eventually underwater images were restored. Secondly, in order to rectify the color distortion, the restoration images were equalized by using the deduced histogram equalization. The experiment results showed that the proposed method could enhance the quality of underwater images effectively.
