Aim of the research is to model the system for cataloguing in the UNIMARC format which does not require specific knowledge of cataloguing formats. The Unified Modeling Language (UML 2.0) is used for the specification of both the information requirements and the architecture model of system for cataloguing. The research finding is a model of system for cataloguing in UNIMARC format by which authors themselves can process their bibliographic entries without knowing UNIMARC format. Bibliographic records formed in this way can be further processed according to adopted standards by librarians. Limitation of research results lies in the additional modeling of graphic user interface for the purpose of changing input data set of library documents. This limitation can be surpassed by specifying the input data set which would be used for automatic generation of appropriate user interface. The specification could be realized by means of XML Schema language. Practical usage of the research findings is the basic for the implementation of a Web application intended for the creation of electronic catalogues and bibliographies of researchers and scientific institutions. Integration of the catalogue into BISIS makes it publicly available through a standard user interface for searching bibliographic records on the Internet. In addition that application could be integrated into various librarian software systems. The contribution of this work is in the model architecture of the system for cataloguing in the UNIMARC format. User interface (described by use case diagrams) is connected with object model of UNIMARC format. According to that, any change or addition of new input data set of library documents requires only the change of use case diagrams which describe user interface while the rest of the model remains the same.

With the coming of Web 2.0, several technologies are developed to facilitate creating, sharing and reusing of web resources. In this context, the mashup is a novel approach that allows the user to aggregate multiples services to create a single one with a new user interface. However, a key limitation of existing mashups applications is the need to compute semantic and syntactic similarities between data in different services and create or modify workflows in applications mashups without enlisting the talents of the original developers or vendor. In fact, automatic matching tools help users to facilitate automatic integration of both data and APIs without knowing their structure and semantics. In this paper, the authors suggest a novel approach which consists in building a semantic mashup using a matching tool, domain ontology and a set of patterns to facilitate and automate services and data integration. As a study use case, they develop a semantic mashup application for a travel agency that provides a single interface to users.

While interactive systems have the potential to increase human work performance, those systems are predisposed to usability problems. Different factors might contribute to these problems during the interaction process and as result, the decision-making process might be compromised. This work uses decision support system methods and tools to assist in the analysis of the usability of a university library website, measuring the constructs of effectiveness, efficiency, and learnability. The pilot study involved thirty-five subjects, and after collecting data, a multidimensional view of the data is created and discussed. Later, a What-if analysis is used to investigate the impact of different scenarios on system-use. The work has the potential to assist designers and system administrators at improving their systems.
