The implementation of Web 2.0 technologies in organizations ushers in a new era of collaboration and communication for enterprises. Enterprise 2.0 is the term that has emerged to describe the organization’s embrace of Web 2.0 technologies. This chapter examines the current trends and impact of Web 2.0 on organizations, managers, the workforce, and information exchange within and across companies. This phenomenon is expected to bring another wave of change to organizations that some believe could be on the magnitude of that experienced during the Internet revolution. These technological advancements do not come without challenges. Security, privacy, ethics, and legal considerations all play a major role in how these technologies develop over time. The time has come, however, for companies to begin to determine strategies for utilizing these technologies in order to remain competitive in the global business arena.

One of the most important and promising directions of introducing information and telecommunication technologies into the healthcare system in Russia is the development of a methodology for prolonged monitoring of the patient's condition and remote consultation by the attending physician. This is due to the fact that many diseases that hold leading positions in the structure of morbidity, disability and mortality of patients require active monitoring of the patient, including during the period between planned visits to the clinic. The creation of such systems can not only prevent medical errors, facilitate rapid response, but also helps to solve the most global problem in any chronic disease - poor adherence to treatment. Therefore, the development and implementation of a remote consultation system based on telemedicine technology will reduce the burden on the outpatient unit by reducing the need to visit a doctor and significantly improve the quality of medical care. However, the use of telemedicine technologies requires the existing business process reengineering of medicine center and process of information exchange between participants in this process - regional and federal medical centers. The article suggests the approach to forming information exchange model between federal and regional medical centers using telemedicine technologies for remote monitoring.

AbstractIn this paper I review three models of language that have dominated language learning and teaching in the last 40 years: the textual model, the information exchange model, and the multilingual model. I analyze each one and consider how it stacks up to instances of language use in a globalized world. I then propose moving beyond the metaphors of citizens and consumers, and consider language teaching as educating denizens of a global ecology that requires sensitivity to context, political awareness, ethical answerability and a good dose of situational cunning.

In this paper, by analyzing the characteristics of data exchange process of SaaS-based collaboration supporting platform for industrial chain, a dynamic and secure business data exchange model for the platform is established. On this basis, methods for business data automatic obtain and format conversion, client authentication based on encryption lock and SOAP extension, business data encryption based on public key of the platform, and instant key created by client is discussed. The implementation of these methods is studied based on a .NET environment. Furthermore, the dynamic and secure business data exchange model is used in the SaaS platform of the automotive industry chain and SaaS platform of the injection industry chain, as it meets the multi-source and heterogeneous information exchange requirements.

In the literature, there is a scarcity of studies investigating the factors influencing the deployment of mobile Web 2.0 (MW2.0) as pedagogical tools in higher education. The purpose of this study is to investigate the adoption of mobile Web 2.0 learning (MW2.0L) by students and further to explore their perceived learning. Accordingly, a research framework was developed through the integration of technology-to-performance chain model, uses and gratifications theory, technology acceptance model, and theory of planned behavior. The partial least squares-structural equation modeling approach was taken to assess the model using 456 data collected from Malaysian public university students. The results of the analysis revealed that students’ intention to continue use of MW2.0L learning was determined by the factors such as mobility, social interaction, and information exchange as gratifications, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude, perceived behavioral control, subjective norms, and task-technology fit. It was found that students’ MW2.0L perceived learning was significantly explained by their behavioral intention. Implications of the study both for literature and practice are further discussed.

Purpose Reciprocity has traditionally been overlooked in social exchange models of inter-firm relationships. Therefore, this research integrates reciprocity and its antecedents into a social exchange model of inter-firm relationships. Design/methodology/approach The authors collected primary data from a sample of firms in the Republic of Korea using a questionnaire. They also used covariance-based structural equations modeling to fit the model given the proposed conceptualization. Findings Both conceptually and empirically, adding reciprocity and its antecedents to the social exchange model produce results that differ from previously published papers. Specifically, reciprocity affects information exchanged indirectly through both credibility and benevolence trust. In addition, the effect of information exchange mediates the effect of trust on calculative and affective commitment. Research limitations/implications The foundation of long-term inter-firm relationships is quality information exchange, which is based on the development of credibility and benevolence trust, which in turn is based on reciprocity. Thus, reciprocity is a key variable in relationship development. Originality/value To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this paper is among the first to combine reciprocity and its antecedents into a social exchange model that contains trust and commitment. This model provides a bigger picture of how firms develop long-term relationships with their partner firms.
