A novel design of planar dual-band microstrip crossover operating at small and large frequency ratios is presented. These features of the proposed dual-band crossover are achieved by a cross-shaped transmission line. To obtain the dual-band characteristics, the required closed form design formulas are computed using the ABCD matrix method. Based on the design formulas, the realizable small and large band ratios are calculated as 1.65–2.14 and 4.1–8.76, respectively. To validate the computed band ratios, three examples of dual-band crossovers are presented. Finally, two prototypes of dual-band crossover working at smaller and larger frequency ratios are fabricated and tested. The fabricated dual-band crossovers exhibit good return loss and isolation of over 20 dB with minimal insertion loss.

Fast Fourier transform (FFT) is widely used in digital signal processing and telecommunications, particularly in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing systems, to overcome the problems associated with orthogonal subcarriers. A new algorithm of radix-3 FFT has been introduced in this work. The DFT of length N can be realized from three DFT sequences; each of length N/3.Radix-3 algorithm reduces the number of multiplications required for realizing DFT.A novel design of Radix-3pipelined Single path Delay Feedback (R3SDF) FFT using MCSLA has been proposed in this paper. First, the pipelined radix-3 SDF FFT method has been designed. It has less area and large power consumption and delay. In order to overcome these problems, modified carry select adder structure is used to perform the adder operation for reducing the power consumption and delay. Finally, the MCSLA is integrated into radix-3 SDF FFT processor. The hardware complexity and execution time for implementing radix-3 FFT algorithm can be reduced than other FFTs.

AbstractIn this paper, we present a novel frequency reconfigurable antenna which could be easily operate in a single notched-band (WiMAX (3.3–3.6 GHz)) UWB frequency band, another single notched-band (WLAN (5–6 GHz)) UWB frequency band and the dual band-notched UWB frequency band (the stopband covers the WiMAX (3.3–3.6 GHz) and WLAN (5–6 GHz)). The reconfigurability is achieved by changing the states of PIN diodes. The simulated results are in agreement well with the measured results. And the measured patterns are slightly changed with antenna reconfiguration. The proposed antenna is a good candidate for various UWB applications.
