BACKGROUND: Work-related musculoskeletal disorders are prevalent in dental hygienists. Although engineering controls and ergonomic training is available, it is unclear why this intransigent problem continues. One possible barrier is that a comprehensive, standardized protocol for evaluating dental hygiene work does not exist. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to generate a valid and reliable observational protocol for the assessment of dental hygiene work. METHODS: An iterative process was used to establish and refine an ecologically valid video acquisition and observation protocol to assess key activities, tasks, and performance components of dental hygiene work. RESULTS: Good inter-rater reliability was achieved across all variables when the final coding scheme was completed by three independent raters. CONCLUSIONS: This work provides an exemplar of the process required to generate a comprehensive protocol for evaluating the work components of a particular job, and provides standardized nomenclature for use by scientists and practitioners interested in understanding and addressing the pervasive issue of work-related disorders in dental hygienists.

Aimed at the problem of the embedded multi-channel video acquisition and display system, a new one based on FPGA is put forward. The configuration of the system is given. The principle and key issue is analyzed. Using of the state shift mechanism, t the controlling time sequence signals of TFT-LCD are produced; The synchronization among multi-channel video acquisition is realized by using time-division multiplexing technology; The problem of conflict between reading and writing frame cache is solved through the two SRAM switch; The frames composition technology is applied to accomplish the change from interlaced scanning to progressive scanning. The result of project application shows the virtues of system, such as good effect of acquisition and display, low cost and low power consumption.

This chapter introduces a system for acquiring synchronized multi-view color and depth (RGB-D) video data using multiple off-the-shelf Microsoft Kinect and methods for reconstructing temporally coherent 3D animation from the multi-view RGB-D video data. The acquisition system is very cost-effective and provides a complete software-based synchronization of the camera system. It is shown that the data acquired by this framework can be registered in a global coordinate system and then can be used to reconstruct the 360-degree 3D animation of a dynamic scene. In addition, a number of algorithms to reconstruct a temporally-coherent representation of a 3D animation without using any template model or a-prior assumption about the underlying surface are also presented. It is shown that despite some limitations imposed by the hardware for the synchronous acquisition of the data, a reasonably accurate reconstruction of the animated 3D geometry can be obtained that can be used in a number of applications.

Currently, video has become the most popular form of media, traditional video field is facing simulated to digital transformation. Using the computer to process the video information has a broad application prospect in many areas. This paper proposes an approach of real-time video acquisition and frame compression processing technology by using the FFmpeg and PHP function to achieve the effect of time-lapse photography. Finally, through the Apache log test the system running status.
