ABSTRACTThe purpose of this research is to see to what extent the implementation of information technology governance with COBIT 5 as a basic framework for assessing information technology and determine the effect of information technology governance on the academic information system. This data processing uses descriptive qualitative analysis and Partial Least Square analysis. The primary data was collected from the questionnaire that distributed to active student in odd semester 2020–2021 in Trilogi University. The result of this research is showing COBIT 5 with the domain EDM (Evaluate. Direct and Monitor) and the MEA (Monitor, Evaluate and Assess) domain have an effect on improving service quality at Trilogy University. While the DSS (Delivery, Service and Support) domain has no effect on improving service quality at Trilogi University. In consequence, Trilogi University is required to improve the governance of information technology in academic information system as way to enchance the service quality provided, so the vision and mission can be achieved.

Information Technology (IT) governance has risen in importance in recent years, driven by various trends in IT development. With rapid growth in the country and the globalization of the IT sector, there is growing interest in IT governance in Malaysia. This study aims to explore whether IT practitioners with different job functions, education levels, education areas of specialization, certifications and experience levels have different perceptions of IT governance effectiveness in their organization. The results reveal differences in perceived IT governance effectiveness between different job function groups, but not between groups with different education levels, certification or experience levels. The findings for education area of specialization are not conclusive. The findings of this study will help IT managers to identify areas of focus to maximize effectiveness of IT governance initiatives through their IT staff. The implications of the findings are discussed at the end of the paper.

Information technology (IT) is increasingly important to organizations and has become essential to the development of sustainable business growth. It is therefore necessary to adopt IT governance (ITG) mechanisms to ensure better solutions, sustainable growth, and better decision-making. As employee behavior is a competitive differential, this work focuses on the behavioral expression of ITG. It aims at analyzing ITG institutionalization's effect on the main dimensions of Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) in Portugal. OCB describes individuals' voluntary commitment to an organization, including attitudes outside of their contractual functions. A descriptive-confirmative ex post facto research was conducted through survey research to 112 employees of IT-related departments and divisions from companies of all sizes in Portugal. The partial least square-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) method was used to test the overall model. The general hypothesis was confirmed, showing that ITG institutionalization positively affects individuals' OCBs in Portuguese organizations. In practical terms, it is possible to show organizations that by implementing their ITG Mechanisms, they are increasing employees' OCBs and, consequently, organizational effectiveness.

Given that the role of information technology (IT) governance and enterprise risk management (ERM) within the organization are imperative due to the ever-increasing complexity in the corporate environment, this study aims to uncover the relationship between IT governance and ERM along with the impact of the two frameworks’ interconnectedness on the organization’s performance through empirical literature review. Furthermore, the findings obtained from the empirical review are also used to create a checklist that every organization can apply. The purpose of the created checklist is to help organizations examine the interconnectedness of their IT governance and ERM with respect to their needs and objectives. The findings from the empirical review show that both IT governance and ERM emphasize the importance of strategic and process alignment regarding its implementation, and it is positively significant to the organization’s performance. Hence, the level of effectiveness of one’s IT- and risk-oriented approaches are dictated by how well an organization appropriately aligns its IT governance and ERM structure, mechanism, and process with its objectives, needs, and business operations.
